I believe that this would be against the will of the vast majority of NZers therefore the answer should be NO and the offer should be removed from the table permanently, the last thing we need is dodgy aid agencies telling us how to run our foreign affairs, we should be putting our efforts into something more useful like saving the Kea

Some good points raised, China is definitely a bigger threat than climate change but you cant put that in a document to create warm fuzzies and create a Unicorn Princess PR moment

I suggest you get acquainted with history , NZ was under attack from German mine laying ships in WW2 and as a result several ships were sunk, German and Japanese submarines also frequented NZ waters and fired torpedos as coastal shipping, during the Cold War there was substantial submarine activity in the waters around NZ

I think most sources will agree it was closer to 20,000 although spread over a number of years, possibly close to 20% of the Maori population being killed by internecine warfare, this was one of the reasons for the Maori to seek the protection of the Crown

just because someone has an opposing view doesnt automatically make them a National supporter as you seem to believe a lot of people are actually quite politically fluid but will stand up to dumb ideas

Certain individuals have a vested interest in continually reinterpreting this document that was signed nearly 170 years ago, the âcrown❠is no longer some overseas wealthy colonial power that can through some money around, it is the entity that all current NZers contribute too. How come Iwi that suffered at the hands of other Iwi during the Musket Wars and before( and suffered the indignity of being enslaved or eaten) dont try and gain compensation for those crimes, as they were surely worse than enacted by the relatively benevolent colonial forces.

Yes didnt the treaty serve its purpose then, although you could argue that the NZ wars were really a continuation of the inter tribal wars of the early 19th C with the inclusion of the British and settlers as many Maori fought with the Crown forces against other tribes in part to settle old scores

I would be surprised if there is a net economic benefit, there have been many studies done around the world were this has been determined, they often have extensive health issues which can easily cost way more than any economic input they contribute, off course there will be exceptions but that is irrelevant in the bigger picture

So she was drawing attention to the issue of illegal people smuggling by organised European groups picking up people in Libya and shuttling them to European ports, how is this any different to what Greenpeace used to do (before it was overtaken by the left) to protect whales or stop French nuclear testing in the Pacific, also why dont you reference the primary source rather than another ânews reportâ, sorry opinion piece.

Have had potential tenants say they have one small dog then find out independently they have two very large Rottweilers, from a landlords perspective important to meet the tenants animals prior to agreeing tenancy, but should still be at the descretion of the owner, some properties may simply not be suitable for animals

How often does this really happen in this day and age ? very rarely I suspect, its not like it is a societal norm for men more a fringe behaviour from a bunch of losers who are self identifiying that you shouldnt consider them as future partners, although apparently it doesnt work in all situations as we still have women ending up with drop kick men and having their children

Nonsense , you are crediting the Russians with supernatural skills of manipulation, they just simply arent that good, especially in 1987 they had more pressing domestic issues to deal with

I believe the plan in this stage is to get to 90,000ft which would be very impressive, new transonic wings will be required for the next stage which is to achieve 100,000ft where the margin between stall and max speed is very tight, the SR71 was rumoured to be capable of reaching 100,000ft although not officially

There is no need for this government interference to force change, when electric vehicles have the range of designs and equivalent range to current ICE vehicles then people will make their own decision to switch (especially with the increasing of tax on fuel) , at this stage there is still development work required to provide the market with 1 replacement vehicles in EV configuration , in reality those market options will probably be with us in 5 years, no need to hold a gun to peoples heads in the meantime and no the planet will not turn into a fiery inferno by then either, do we really need a productivity commission ?

Strange how none of these âclimate alarmists❠are proposing for the widespread adoption of next generation nuclear power, as this is the only realistic way of reducing CO2 emissions, cars only account for around 10% of GHG emissions so the widespread switching to driving Nissan Leafs isnt really going to change much, but I guess it has a feel good factor

It is a legal issue and the law is quite clear, overturning the law would require a pretty convincing case, allowing a convicted traitor to profit from their crimes is not in my book a convincing case, someone has the right of free speech if they are allowed to enter the country in a lawful manner , otherwise do a Web presentation
