What did Adern achieve as an MP before being gifted the role of PM, by Winston?
Simple really.  Nothing.
She authored a couple of bills that were so badly written, they had to be sent back to be redone.
Seems thats all you need to do, to make it to the top of the heap in the Labour party.

Dowd, in my opinion hit the nail on the head, Ardern is a lightweight joke - and is doing real damage to New Zealand and New Zealanders. The sooner this rabble coalition implodes the better.20326663Miranda
What track record does she have? What did she achieve before becoming prime minister? Next to nothing. Have you read the so called bills that she sponsored? Pathetic. Criticism is spot on. Maybe she could have been ready to be PM in 15 or 20 years time, but certainly not now. Her performance is proof. 18123453borshn88

The real Jacindamania is not the rush of enthusiasm that swept her into leadership.

 .

Really? In fact that it is exactly what it is. A former Socialist youth leader promoted to far too fast and not equipped for the realities of being a Prime Minister. Failings of leadership are now evident.

And that she was compared with Justin Trudea is not a compliment; his PC absurdities on the international stage now see him mocked by many.

Ardern is in danger of losing all credibility.

I really liked Jacinda but she has shown herself to be still camp leader in the happiness club and a light weight with no real world experience. As much as I dont like Winnie he showed her up in the short weeks in charge. The trip to the Pacific conference in the private plane so she could have a little more time with the baby who will never remember anyway was hypocritical and represents two years wages for the average kiwi.It also proves that you cant do it all. Do your job or pass it on to someone who can. I am over Jacinda over this tax and spend government and really wish Bill and his team had stuck around. I hold Winnie responsible for the whole debacle. 17422147chezdkiwi
You look at all the down ones and comments on her .... NZ really has had enough of this circus col ...... show us a real leader ... not a puppeteer 17320936Ohcindy
True test of a leader is how they cope in a crisis. So far not good.  Ardern flounders when making the tough decisions.

Shes the PM in name only, in case no ones noticed, nothing happens without Winstons say so. Hes the real PM, just like he always wanted to be, he saw the clueless lefties desperate for power and knew that by going with a bunch of inexperienced academics, unionists and hippies he could finally achieve his long held dream of running the country, PM may not be his official title but theres no mistaking whos wearing the pants, just ask Jacinda, Andrew Little, Lees-Galloway and the Greens, all of whom he has put in their place without raising a sweat and I hate to say it but thank God he is in charge, thered be even more carnage if these clowns were given free reign.16119635Hells Belle

The article focuses on hype because thats all there is. Our government and PM havent done anything worth reporting on. 14918031JimmytheSquid
NY Times got it right.... honeymoon over!

Time we had a full time Prime Minister not a celebrity14517530JIM PHILLIPS
She got where she is now by saying yes, yes, yes to everyone.14116928swans11
I guess she doesnt have a History  or even took labour leadership by her record , she was gifted the position when little became another lame duck and was dumped. She struggled her way to 35% in an election and sold her soul to Winston to get them and the greens over the line. She has done nothing remarkable and if the last election and the poles are anything to go by even have a significant public support. The article is essentially accurate she is a novelty. Unfortunately running a country is not about ponies and flowers14016525concrete11
Aaaaah. Youve obviously nothing better to do as well. You could go for a Sunday drive but who can afford petrol anymore?13915415Prestige
I think its an apt discription, she hasnt shown 1 leadership with the issues within her cabinet or even in the labour party (summer camp). She is trying to please everyone, which is why the NZ left loves her, she exudes hope and smiles, but were talking her about the person leading the country, not the co-ordinator of a local womens group or a cheer leading troop13616327WayneC
shes been in for a year and done nothing really, Im a hard working kiwi but shes hasnt done one thing for me and know dont expect anything from her either now .shes getting tedious now. 13215321I know u
This US journalists is simply reflecting how NZ journalists have quite correctly protrayed her13014919exhippy
How about her legacy being the ability to govern. If we wanted government by committees we could get rid of politicians. We need a decisive clear headed strong PM with an ability to lead. Lets not worry about our impact on history until weve sorted the present. 13014313mycatzrule
