Free speach is fine Joel but your free speach always has a blatently racist slant against white people. Actually that is wrong, their is no racist slant you are just outright racist against white people which is ironic since all of your opinion pieces are labeling white people as racist. Perhaps you should take a look at your whakapapa, pick out the pakeha ancestors you have and write a rant about them and how they have tainted your bloodline. You ldentify as Maori as is your right Joel but please stop writing racist articles, its getting a bit boring.
Pathetic load of of upper class white guilt bollocks. I am part Maori and this is what I know. No one can insult you without your consent. What happens to you is determined by the last thought that is in your head. If you turn your life and future over to the action of some other party you have no mana. There is no mana, honour or self esteem in claiming victimhood.
Brash has always called for unity - for New Zealanders to live together as one people. Davidson has always supported racist separatism. Thats the difference. Neither should be censored, but neither are they equally valid.
I am biracial... so I am unclear if the maori or scots side of me failed at school and left at 14 because of a undiagnosed mental illness, if it was the maori or scots side of me that kept having to fight winz and its other alter egos, when it came to getting training in different fields. If it was the maori or scots side that meant I did a number of years working in manual labour, if its the maori side that gets told it has white privilege or the scots side that is told that its got a harder deal in life by race.... but one thing is for sure, both the maori and the scots side both lost their land and heritage many many moons ago, the difference is that one side still lives in their country, while the other was ran out of scotland and forced to find a new home in NZ..... and they both immigrated to NZ..... now what was that again about only maori know what its like to lose everything... and whats that about white privilege ?.... I am biracial, what races are you, joel ? and why do you only favour one side....
Its not reverse racism at all. It is just racism.
New flash Joel you are every bit (and possibly more) âPakehaâ than you are Maori, why are you so ashamed of part of your ancestry
Just as in this column I use the P-word a lot, which some PÄkehÄ find hugely offensive. And you have the audacity to ask non Maori to pronounce place names correctly. Yet you openly acknowledge how you deliberately offend people with racist lingo. And at the same time you expect to be taken seriously. Its all about Joel I guess.
A poor comparison. No government organisation has tried to keep Marama Davidson from saying what she pleases. All that has happened is that people who dont agree with her have said so.
Good piece until the reverse racism. Im a PÄkehÄ who also has no time for what Don Brash says on all things MÄori, but apparently I only care about International milk powder prices, Coronation Street, [and] not enough dog parks. Disgusting attitude.
Davidson.... Another cringe activist mp in parliament that taxpayers pay good money for being there.
Well said. It is all too easy to play the victim card. you are who you want to be, not what others want you to be.
Born of the tupuna that created cheeses, pyjamas, printing presses, global climate change, modern antibiotics, trains, nukes. Born a thin-lipped, blue-eyed middle-class god of worldwide destruction. You know, born PÄkehÄ.lets break this down, cheese is probably French, Gutenberg was German, most modern antibiotic studies were done in Germany around 1900,trains came from a British engineer, nukes came from Oppenheimer who was Jewish, pyjamas are from Muslim Indians, and just calling them all pakeha strips them of their heritage and culture and puts people as different Irish and Danish Italians under one generic label, it shouldnt be any more acceptable than using the label browns for oceanic people.
Yeah, let them speak. And Lauren Southern and Stefan Molyneaux too. Free speech with no buts.
I no issue with free speech at all from brash or southern etc but to use the C word in a public domain like the way she did is just crass and unnecessary.I not saying i dont use e word because i do but not to describe female anatomy but i sure as heck would never ever use it in front of children or people i dont know like she did
As someone who has always voted for social equality, our environmental future and individual freedom, it is getting harder and harder to call my attitudes left wing.Dont get me wrong, although I see the need for a strong economy, I could never vote for a party that puts business interests ahead of all other considerations.I am just getting sick of people who go out of their way to be offended as though it is an Olympic sport. Freedom of speech is important whether the person is to the left, right or even off in space somewhere in their own head. If we do not allow these people to speak and drive them underground, how do we know what we need to fight against, and also how do we know that they do not have some valid points among some of the one sided reporting that makes for good headlines? Two particular sayings spring to mind.It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it. AristotleâI wholly disapprove of what you sayâ”and will defend to the death your right to say it.â Voltaire
I am stunned that this actually got into print. Congratulations.....you have been allowed to state the opinion of so many of us.....if I am anything to go by....that have been systematically blocked.
BARVO.....BRAVO.....
It would be a lot more helpful if Marama Davidson, and her band of groveling to Winston Greens, said and did something that would actually do good for New Zealand, and the hard working people of New Zealand who are trying to make ends meet, and cant afford this stupidity by those on the Greens gravy train!
I think it is wonderful that Marama is using the c word, the more exposure the public has to what makes the Greens stand for the better, they are a very weird lot. Considering they poll about 5% and half the Greens cant stand her she represents the margin of error at best.
Absolutely. We should let the co leader of the Green open her mouth as often as possible to remove all doubt.
