I have an upper respiratory tract infection at the moment as well.Today Ill be going to work, I also walked the dog this morning.Im not feeling great, but it will be okay.I could not however, sing and perform for a massive crowd, and leave them satisfied. Im too sick for that.Give Pink a break, shes right in postponing.

So the question in a private hospital room is unbelievably embarrassing, but the mother has no problem putting a photo of her daughter in the paper, accompanied by an article which is basically about the girls virginity.

The last property I rented was $240 a week. It was a 2 bedroom flat, 3 years ago. I expected the property to be in a tidy condition, and I expected everything to be working. I got exactly that.If I were to pay a thousand dollars a week for a rental, I would expect the place to be flawless.Mike and Kate are not wrong in expecting a certain standard.

In 2008 I sold a house at a loss after my divorce. I wonder if people felt I deserved that. The housing market can go either way. There was nobody jumping up and down, and coming to my aid, when I lost money. Funny that now that I could make some money, people want a piece of it.

Theres cheating, and than theres cheating...This wasnt some one-off, drunken mistake.Every day, for 20 months, your husband chose to cheat on you, lie to you, made a mockery out of your marriage. For 20 months, he never thought of your feelings, he was utterly selfish. He showed no respect for you, or your family, he just assumed he was too clever to be ever found out by his dumb wifey. So now he got caught, and realizes that he could actually lose you. Lose his family. And you know what? It might actually scare him straight. But even if it does, it cant erase the 20 months of uncaring disrespect he showed you.20 months, thats 600 different mornings that he woke up and thought: You know what, today I choose to cheat on my wife.

And now Im 46, and no man has whistled at me for about 20 years.I remember me and my friend as teenagers always biking past a construction site on our way from school, and those men would always whistle at us. I also remember it made us smile and feel quite pleased about ourselves. But nowadays, as a woman, you arent allowed to admit that it felt like a bit of a compliment, and compliments are always nice to get.I really cant remember feeling this outraged.

Im going to say something, and get a million downvotes, but Im going to say it anyway...Im Dutch, and I fully support the laws surrounding cannabis in the Netherlands. It seperates the soft drug users from the hard drug users, and that can only be a good thing. It will prevent people from getting into contact with meth and synthetic cannabis. But with freedom, comes responsibility. And looking at the way Kiwis handle having acces to alcohol, Im just not sure youre ready.Too many Kiwis are just too dumb to make good decisions on the where, when and how often to use cannabis.

100 sqm 2 bedroom home. 1984 but fully insulated with double glazing.Heatpump, and a small panelheater in the bedroom.Electric hot water. Top of the South Island.About $300 a month in winter for power. No, I dont get it either...

Im going to come across as extremely sheltered now, but I need someone to explain this phenomenon to me.Doesnt the window washer ask first if you want your window washed? Cause if they dont, why would they expect to be paid for a service that wasnt requested? And if the potential customer says no, dont they just go away?Or do they just start washing and then demand money? Surely that would be extortion, which is illegal and that shouldnt be so hard for the police to deal with?

I dont know...Im bilingual myself. Dutch and English.I used to be reasonably okay in German and French as well. But when living in Europe, you actually get to use those languages often. After living in NZ for 10 years, I went to France last year, and I was shocked at how bad my French had become. The reality for most kiwis is that you can teach them a second language, but theyll never use it, and will forget within a few years.Te Reo being the exception here, because its actually useable in NZ.I think foreign languages and Te Reo should be offered in schools, but to make it compulsory? About 95% of kiwis will never have a use for it.

No double standard there.Im a heterosexual woman, and I would say no to MFF, but might consider MMF.Being heterosexual for me simply means that I have no desire at all to do anything sexual with someone of the same gender. Its an interesting effect from the acceptance and tolerance we now have for non-heterosexuals, that heterosexuality actually seems to be less accepted as an orientation. A lot of people seem to think heterosexuals are simply in denial.

Sounds like a lot of very socially acceptable answers were given in that survey.Im not so sure my partner would get a lot of respect in the workshop or at the pub if he suddenly took up yoga.

Moving around has brought me a lot, different perspectives, different experiences.I do feel I have lost something along the way as well.I seemed to have lost a sense of belonging. I feel like a foreigner no matter where I am.Its nothing dramatic, Im perfectly happy, but I might have a bit of an identity crisis. Im not sure who my people are.

These articles always seem to claim that the old fashioned kiwi bloke is one-dimensional. That because they dont show a lot of emotions, they must not have them.No person is that flat, people have layers, and just because a man doesnt burst into tears in public doesnt mean he cant feel. It doesnt mean he is repressed, or out of touch with his emotions. Some men will be staunch at the pub, or at the workplace, but you have no idea what they are like at home.Dont confuse the public person with the private one.I have seen my strong-silent-type partner cry when his friend died, but Im the only one who saw it, and thats okay.We seem to have gone from RealMenDontCry, to all men should cry as soon as something sad happens on Shortland Street, otherwise youre not a real man.

+26−3

Hes likely to have an inwards battle?Doesnt sound like that to me. I dont think this man is in any way confused about his sexuality. The only battle hes having is with his missus who is wishing he wasnt a heterosexual.

I had to stop reading, because Im going through this with my mum at the moment.Im bawling my eyes out here.Thank god my mum lives in a country where she does have the choice. She hasnt made a decision yet, but I am comforted by the idea that if her suffering becomes too much, and she wishes to leave this life on her own terms, she can.Keep fighting the good fight. I hope that when my time comes, NZ will allow me to make a choice for myself.

Yes. I also wonder who exactly has earned the profit on my house if it isnt me. It was me who sunk all my savings into that house. Taking a risk. It is me constantly saving more to afford upgrades and renovations. I dont see any of these more deserving people showing up here on the weekend to paint yet another wall or window frame.I must be really selfish, but I worked my behind off FOR that house, and IN that house. It pisses me off every time I hear that I just got lucky, and should therefore share the wealth.A lifetime of making an effort has led up to this point.I dont have a high paying job, I struggled and sacrificed.Wow, that turned into quite the rant...

+24−3

No, Im the same. I am not bothered in the slightest by how the models look.Looking in the mirror can make me question how I look. Looking at other people doesnt do that.

Yes.I was also annoyed with this bit:Were really sorry to hear about Mr Roebuck and would be happy to discuss the issue at any time with him.Thats all Mr Roebuck needs... to have to discuss it! Just get out there, and stop it from happening, so the man can get some peace and quiet in his final days.

His first place got badly damaged in the quakes, and he was moved to a safe, undamaged house, and this he describes as being mucked around.Does mr. Curtis realize there were a lot of people who ended up homeless after the earthquake? He was then left in peace for 7 years, which a lot of renters in the private market can only dream about, and now he gets offered another house, without any effort on his part. He doesnt even have to do his own packing and moving, all that gets done for him, for free.I wonder what it would take to make mr. Curtis feel a little less hard done by.

+18−0

Same for me.I rented for 4 years. I remember I tried to clean the venetian blind in the kitchen, and all the paint came of it. I didnt even talk to the owners about it, I just bought a new blind and only mentioned it the next time I saw them.I took care of that place like I owned it. Why wouldnt I? I lived there, and I dont want to live in a pigsty.

+17−0

Its not that simple. They wont have millions just sitting in the bank. All that money will be tied up in property and companies.Property could be sold and devided, but thats only a portion of their wealth.Shes going to end up owning half of the companies, never working there, but demanding half the profit and an equal say in the future of those companies. Maybe it would be best if she gets a bit more of the sellable property, walk away from businesses that he started, and instead he can make their child a silent partner in those companies to ensure the childs future.I dont understand why anyone in this day and age would get married without a prenup. I have one, and Im far from rich.

+18−2

Im childfree by choice.Ill admit I do sometimes worry about being old and have nobody who loves me by my side. I fear ending up lonely. But lets be honest. Wouldnt that be the worst, and most selfish reason to have a child?Im sure you didnt have children solely to save you from a lonely death.

While I agree that dogs shouldnt be attacking seals, lets not make too big a deal about this particular incident.A dog that size wont even put a scratch on a fur seal, and judging by the owners reaction it will not happen again. It looks like it took the owner by surprise, next time hell be prepared.

This is not my experience.I came here 10 years ago with my husband (now ex).He was the skilled one, I have no real qualifications. English is not our first language, although we were both reasonably fluent. He had 2 interviews already lined up before we got here, he got hired by both employers, so he had a choice. As for me, I walked into a store, simply to buy something, got talking to the owner, and walked out with a job.It was that simple.Years later, my new Australian partner, moved to NZ. He spend one afternoon walking into several businesses to introduce himself, and hand out resumes. He came home a few hours later with a job.Finding work was the easy part. Finding friends was harder.

I always find it difficult to make up my mind, reading these stories, because they are one-sided. ACC cant outline the reasons for certain decisions.A colleague of mine had a very bad accident 30 years ago. ACC has been really good to him, and continues to be good to him to this day.Without hearing both sides of these stories, you really cant draw any conclusions.

A friend of mine still does this. Been doing it for years. Freezing works, and then the off season in the vinyards. You know those vineyards.... where according to the no hopers here in Marlborough they dont hire locals... Turns out they do. My friend makes good money, yes, also in the vineyards. But hey, hes not afraid of hard work.

Im a woman too, and in my 46 years of being, I have never had this happen to me either. No man has ever turned threatening after being rejected by me. Not in real life, or on dating sites. No man has ever been appalled by the fact that I have opinions, and certainly never told me to just be quiet and smile and be agreeably.I have worked with customers all my working life, I meet a lot of people, and I have had arguments with some customers, but even the rudest male customer has not threatened to kill or rape me. In fact, no man has ever threatened to do me physical harm for simply not agreeing with him.

+12−2

You get downvoted, but youre absolutely right. If you are struggling to feed your family, you cant afford to have principles regarding chickens. Sad but 1.Luckily I can afford free range, and that is what I buy. But a few years ago, it was a different story. And while I felt guilty about it, I had little choice but to go for the cheapest option. But on the upside; back then I ate a lot more eggs, but a lot less meat.

+20−11

Kick the lot of them out.It sounds to me like you have enough on your plate, and just need some peace and quiet to deal with yourself at the moment. You and your partner can still date, spend quality time together that will bring you closer, but these kids arent yours and I can imagine theyre just too much right now.Live apart for a couple of years. When his kids have moved out, you can live together again. You need to concentrate on you.

Im always a little conflicted on this issue. While I think the high tax is an absolute rort, hurting the poorer members of our society, the truth is that if it wasnt for the high cost, Id still be smoking today. It was the fact that I could no longer afford it, that made me switch to vaping 2 years ago.Im still against the way its taxed, but I cant deny I quit because of it.

Knowing where Bees togs are, doesnt make you a better parent.I seem to be more aware of details in a lot of situations than my partner. I also sometimes get lost in the details, while hes more about the bigger picture. Its wonderful how men and women can actually work together to make things run smoothly.

+8−0

Unbelievable. You dont always have to like your job, you just have to do it. If you really cant stand it, then find a better one.If I win lotto next wednesday, Ill quit my job and never work a day again. But untill I do, off to work I go, because sitting on my backside receiving the dole simply isnt an option in my mind.I know this young guy who has been fired from a number of jobs because after a few days he just stops showing up. Every time he does this, he just goes back on the dole. This shouldnt even be possible. How many times can he do this before someone tells him that if he loses another job through his own fault, there wont be any more free money for him. Some people need to be forced, whether they like it or not.

Agreed. And since these fields full of tiny houses dont exist, its not going to be 90k.Id have to buy a section to put it on first. One that doesnt have any covenants. Add to that all the costs of getting consent, getting power and water and sewerage connected.By now my deposit is a lot higher, and I doubt the bank will happily give me a mortgage for my 24 m2 tiny project.Even if your lucky enough to have parents who will let you build one of these things on their land, the bank is not going to give you any money, which means you have fund the whole thing yourself.I actually do like people coming up with ideas like this, its just so unrealistic.

+12−6

Same.I also think that my partner knows me well enough to predict my reaction, and keep this particular fetish to himself. It seems strange to me that this guy actually thought his wife would be willing to incorporate this into their sexlife. I guess he got so caught up in his little fantasy that he lost sight of who she is.

If I were you, Id put that last bookcase unit on its side, with the tv on top of it.Your cubes will still line up, but your tv wont be in such a weird high place.Nice house though.

+6−0

Hmm, assuming youre allowed to build on it, you could build a lovely 2 story house on it.A total of 50m2 or something.25m2 downstairs for kitchen and lounge. One bedroom and a bathroom on 25m2 upstairs. This would still leave you with enough room for some off street parking and a small court yard.Youd be living in a very good neighborhood, so the return on this project would probably be quite high if its done well.If it fits on the awkward shaped block, I see the potential.

This is why people start saving befóre they desperately need to buy something, and not wait with making an effort until things are really dire.Im aware there are people out there who really cannot afford to put any money away, ever. But far too many people just spend, spend, spend with gay abandon, and then when the washing machine breaks down they start crying poor.

+10−4

I do, indirectly...More tourists, more money for the boss, job security for me.But we were doing fine with less tourists, and Im sick of it.Id like to be able to go somewhere on a weekend off, and enjoy the country I live in. And I do, but not in summer. Summers are mostly spend at home, hiding from the hordes.

The bashing of Mr. Curtis isnt because hes in social housing. Its because of his attitude. There will always be people in need of social housing, and thats fine. I want you to have a roof over your head, and I want you to be warm and dry. The neighbor, Billy, was also interviewed, and nobody has made any negative comments about him.Be like Billy...I hope you have a great day too.

You could buy one bra, with 3 matching panties.Back when I still cared about matching underwear, thats what I did. Every bra I owned had 3 undies that went with it.

I didnt say she should break up the relationship. I said they should live apart for a while. How is she supposed to heal if she doesnt make changes to facilitate that healing? Her living arrangements arent healthy for her at the moment. So yes, step 1 is asking him and his sons to find somewhere else to live.Step 2 is finding a therapist to help her with the depression.Step 3 is getting her GP to help her manage her menopausal symptoms.Hopefully by this point the reduction in her stress levels wil help a lot with her physical ailments (the IBD at least), and she will be a lot happier. That will probably also help her libido, although I have to admit that in her situation my libido would be the least of my worries.

+6−2

I tend to agree.Theres a certain romantic notion to these tiny houses, because people imagine them on a wildflower dotted meadow overlooking the ocean. In summer...In reality, you just need a little more space.Mind you, my 100 sqm, 2 bedroom home is big enough for me, but I wouldnt want to go any smaller. (But not much bigger either...)

Is every second bill an estimate?I had that the first year after I moved into my house. The previous owner spend most of his time overseas, leaving the house empty. I went from about $200 to $50 to $200 to $50.

Im Dutch, and the biggest difference I think, is that being drunk isnt seen as cool, or funny in the Netherlands. When you go out with your friends on saturday night, and you get drunk, your friends are embarrassed by you. You feel absolutely mortified the next morning, thinking about your behaviour. And if it happens too often, your friends will stop asking you to come out with them.Getting drunk says that you are immature, and you cant handle a drink. Thats embarrassing. Definitely not cool.
