Im gobsmacked that this is a talking point. Whether or not, Perenara had his hands on the ball or not, a defending player must remain behind his last mans feet. Lawes failed to abide by this rule and rightfully suffered the consequence by being adjudicated offside at the ruck. Its unfortunate for him and England but it doesnt matter if you are defending on your own try-line or at halfway - the same rule always applies. The TMO had no choice but to make the obvious decision. It wasnt marginal at all and the infringement was obvious for the entire viewing audience to see. And for those who see anything other than the obvious, you are simply viewing through a warped lens and offering an opinion based on fiction - not fact.

At this level there isnt any excuse. Youre either a goal kicker or not and it has been clear for such a long time that Barrett is not a goal kicker. If Barrett is fooling Hansen that he can be a better kicker then it must be Hansens fault that Barrett remains the kicker and after so many years of clear evidence that hes not even close to being up to the ability or responsibility this has to be wrong. On a positive note excellent win by the Boks - fluke or not.

The only logical option to improve Aussie rugby is to have several teams playing in our national comp. There isnt another option because anything else will take 20 years to build on. But Australia has stabbed us in the back too many times since the good old days when we rescued their union back in the early to mid 90s. Had they been a bit more positive and grateful to NZs reluctant assistance then perhaps the NZRU would entertain the idea. Voting against NZ to host the 2011 World Cup was probably the final straw. Good luck to them.

Yeah we can use the diplomatic, good sport and sound humble and gracious in defeat line and pretend everything is all good BUT the next time the All Blacks take a shot at goal can someone other than Barrett take the kick... anyone, please just anyone except Beauden Barrett. Ive had more than enough of his incompetence to last a life time. How can we go from a rugby nation who prided ourselves on producing excellent goal kickers for decades to simply having to settle for this Barrett nonsense. Why should we continue to accept this rubbish from any All Black. Arent we a team noted for raising the bar?Someone must tell Barrett he is not to kick a ball from the tee ever again. No more.

Weve all put our 10 cents worth in and weve all heard the excuses and theres been no shortage of smoke and mirror responses to some hard questions. I dont care for any of this and all I ask for is that Beauden Barrett never gets given the kicking tee. Full stop.

As another publication from an Aussie journo states - By the time australians reach Wallaby level it is too late to teach them skills and therefore they must rely on passion, intensity ( and a whole lot more) and the All Blacks having an off day to win consistently. Leave the All Blacks alone Phil.

There is no doubt that officiating personnel are ruining rugby. But Im afraid that this rubbish will get a hell of a lot worse before it gets better. Theres a major event on the horizon and you can guarantee that these imbeciles cant wait to get on the big stage. The officiating is slowly but surely turning me away from the game.

Well I remember Wales struggling to make progress through the backline against England and when Gatland went to the bench and bought Anscombe on he certainly played with more vision and enterprise than any Welsh first five Ive seen in many years. Had he played 80 minutes Wales might have won the game.

Yep, that degree is as good as Dust. By your own admission you put your money into a failed degree and its probably fair to say that you should refrain from suggesting to anyone where they should invest their money. Studying insects who lay their eggs on the surface water of our oceans or playing with a ball? Mum and Dad might have got away with their degrees provide financial freedom propaganda but in this day and age - you shouldve played with the ball - any damned ball.

Well I think Ive eaten enough humble pie thank you very much. Im also staying out of the public All Blacks Stoning Ceremony, for my scathing opinion makes no difference to the fact they tried but failed... and Ireland won - deservedly. But for what its worth, literally - with so many variables now thrown into the hat there is only one certainty among these. The All Blacks will now be at backable odds to win the World Cup.

+4−1

The only trouble with your theory is, whilst Barrett could be the answer at fullback, they would highly likely play him as a 2nd playmaker. I would normally agree with you but unless Barrett stayed in the fullback position Ben Smith is our natural 15 and is still the best we have. They will persevere with Barrett because theyve simply invested way too much in him at 10. They just need to manage the game like they usually do - something that deserted them against Ireland.

After the All Blacks loss I thought we all knew how, where and why this occurred and probably before the final whistle was blown. But wait theres more and still a week later what was concluded 7 days ago is still being picked apart. People never seem to get tired of stating the obvious.

5 ways how England might beat the All Blacks 1. Pray for this to be the 10th year2. Pray the ABs score less than zero points3. Pray not to touch the poison4. Pray that the poison works this time5. Pray for a game of soccer instead

The first test shouldve ironed out the creases and it wouldnt necessarily have been a shock if they started slowly in the 2nd game but to play with the level of rustiness through the entire match isnt acceptable considering the 3 training camps they had. Play like that again in the 3rd test with their ever increasing level of ill discipline and France should be able to account for an All Blacks side who now have a wee bit of added pressure and expectation on their shoulders.

Ive always enjoyed the French meeting the haka head on, so to speak. I thought their $10,000 fine in the RWC final was a joke and believe more if not all teams should in their own way challenge the heck out of the All Blacks haka - its what I would do if I was in an opposing team. Its never tiring watching the All Blacks do the haka but maybe a little dull when watching teams just standing there motionless and not using the opportunity to throw something back, whatever that something might be.

The only reason the All Blacks are $1.19 is the bookies are too afraid to frame an honest market. If the game was played 100 times the bookies are stating that the All Blacks should win 84.3 of them and anyone with half a brain would know that based on the 161 test matches played, Australia have a 31.07% chance of winning - that is the 1 implied probability. So for the less educated on here who believe that the TAB odds are indicative of honest favouritism think again. And dont forget, these crooks have framed their markets to their advantage and only want to give you as little of their money as possible for any All Blacks victory. The 1 value is all with Australia as far as betting is concerned and the All Blacks are way over the odds and not a value bet at all. If betting on this game I know where my $100 would be going.

They were their own worst enemy last night and similar performances like that will be heavily punished. Clearly Hansen has a challenge on his hands now - does he actually start loading players with information and begin to unleash the so called bold new style of rugby weve been told about or does last nights performance show that these players dont have the top two inches to implement a simple gameplan let alone one that is bold and new. Reality check boys.

You’re not missing something you’re missing the whole lot. First off, the free qualification handed out to NZ couldn’t be further from the truth. Even if Italy had beaten them and scored 4 tries the All Blacks would’ve still qualified as runner up of pool b and the Boks would’ve missed out. Secondly, you’re wrong again with this being a must-win game for both teams and for the third time that you have based your opinion on pure fiction, NZ has had a fair and legitimate opportunity to qualify. Had you not missed your own opportunity to look closer at Pool B before posting your fictional opinion you wouldn’t have wasted all that energy writing it out.Â

You ain’t seen nothing yet. Skeen and his counterparts have merely just begun their tournament. Just sit back and marvel in the world of the Rugby TMO. You will feel every negative emotion possible to human beings. You will feel at times an energy to want to do something about it but feel totally helpless to everything. There is no doubt that Skeen will destroy a nations hopes. Forget the French referees and the other incompetent whistle blowers, Ben Skeen is ready to light up your television sets like no other. Forget the threat of the rush defence, the power of the rolling maul, the strength and speed of the world’s best backlines. Ben Skeen will be the man who will be remembered by all, in this lifetime and the next. Step aside Wayne Barnes, move over Joker, for this villain has no equal. He will be merciless and he will rip the hearts out of men, women and children all over the world. The masses will pray to their religious leaders but their prayers will not be heard. Remember the name, Ben Skeen, for it is he who will decide who wins the 2019 RWC.Â

You cant put 50 points on the Wallabies and the next time you play them you play like a bunch of Wombles and get knocked out of a World Cup semi. If they won that game and then managed to beat England in the final (which was unlikely) then most of you would be criticising Mitchell for his involvement with the enemy. Mitchell did us all a favour - imagine being beaten by the poms in a World Cup final... wed still be hearing all about it to this day. If one continues to listen to the loud and contradictory host of historians the chances of discovering the truth is nil.

+1−1

Isnt it funny how people exaggerate the truth. He was just one frustrated man taking a swipe at the All Blacks and nothing more. I can understand his frustration especially after the 57-0 loss and then just a slender point or two defeat in Africa.

Bulldust is correct. The Canes are overrated just like the Highlanders are. As for Barrett, I think Hansen even knows he isnt what he wants. Apart from beating a prop on the outside Barrett has offered very little in the last 12 months at least. Will only be a matter of time until that bloke from Canterbury takes his jersey.

+0−0

He has a point though. He struggles to find the ability to take the game by the scruff of the neck - his past heroics are just that. Would be nice to see him general the troops for a change.

For me the big one is the referee. And though we have Nigel Owens this week I cant help but feel on edge about Raynal (Argentina) or Aussie Angus (South Africa) wanting to get heavily involved in those upcoming tests. Theyve all been relatively quiet since they got a speaking to recently but one thing is certain - one of them is due for a shocker. Its not if but when.

+2−4

Geez, and they say that Australians have an inflated ego?If they show up with enough intensity, fitness and game plan, etc... they can win. Unfortunately for them winning the opener has been as rare as spotting a measured and humble All Blacks fanboy. I think with our backline being a bit ordinary and predictable its more than likely going to be our forwards, once again, who will be the difference. Im expecting a close one. Aus 19 - 27 All Blacks

+9−11

Retallick sorely missed. I know Ive kind of overhyped Retallicks worthiness but is it fair to say that the All Blacks seem average without him. Is he more influential to the team that most people think? The Boks were picking the All Blacks runners off with ease and easily won the collision. All Blacks were physically beaten. I understand that the Barrett parents are proud of their production line success but could the All Blacks selectors be picking 2 Barretts too many (possibly 3) to start a test match. The All Blacks will definitely need to score more tries than their opposition at next years World Cup because they cant rely on Barrett to even kick the easy ones over. Barrett will still be the kicker because Hansen doesnt care and is focused more on his horse Nature Strip racing in Aussie. Cant see the one dimensional All Blacks winning in Pretoria. Boks by 9

As a New Zealander its nice to see one of our own in the final next week. It should be a lot closer than most are suggesting and it wouldnt surprise me if the Crusaders make the Lions work hard. But because Im a born and bred Aucklander and not one of the 4.0 million one eyed sheep residing in NZ, my support is well and truly behind the team from Transvaal. Never been a fan of Canterbury or Crusaders rugby so go the Lions all the way and make us non-Crusaders fans proud. Lions 26 - The Other Team 21

Winning a Super Rugby title is now like winning a meaningless competition in the outback of Australia and with 17,000 people at the ready to sell out AAMI Stadium Im glad Auckland isnt embarrassing itself in staging the biggest game of the most abysmal rugby competition on the planet. I couldnt think of a better place to host such an overrated sporting finale. Over to you Christchurch.

These incompetent refs and TMOs dish out more than enough yellow cards in rugby theres no point having a red one. Get rid of the red card and replace it with putting players in report. Its the only logical saving grace world rugby has. Without doing so the game will continue to spiral out of control and these idiots who so call officiate the game of rugby will ruin our game forever.

For the first time in a long time Im struggling to see how the All Blacks can win this one. They will have to play out of their skins to get over the Aussies, who seem to have more unpredictability and a good spring in their steps off the back of last season. Ive watched more than enough All Blacks test matches to see that these guys have become repetitive in their style and game plan. Aussie were very unlucky last season and so too were Scotland. ABs really need to bring everything including the kitchen sink to thwart what looks likely to be an Aussie victory. Aus 24-22 NZ

Mallet is only saying Marx is better than any of the Crusaders forwards and he could be right. But whats not up for debate is Mallet did not say the Lions would win. Hes makes this point clear and a lot of people simply cant read. Im sticking to my guns and believe the Lions can pull of an upset here and prove that the Crusaders are a tad overrated.Marx to score 3 tries. Crusaders 20 - 25 Lions

+3−10

Australia are capable of winning this game. I cant help but feel the ABs are vulnerable and sitting ducks for this one. There might be a few new-ish players in the side but theyll implement the same old game plan they have used for the last 2 years or so. Unless they are going to unleash the new and bold style of play they spoke of 3 - 4 months ago then I cant see them having the same success with the same game plan. Were just lucky we have Read and Retallick back otherwise I think this game will be a foregone conclusion. Some are saying it and Im sharing the same sentiment. Australia will be hugely competitive and are a major threat this weekend. Can cause an upset at juicy odds. Wallabies 24 - 22 All Blacks
