I agree with the point this argumenr is making however I think Piutau is a very poor example, he is not surplus to international requirements. He would still be playing for the All blacks but chose to leave for huge money. He cant now gripe about his choice to choose money over international selection. It would be great for Tonga to have him play as they need the prize money from world cups.

All blacks got to play tests against Japan and England were not able to?! Maybe they are trying to sell the game and England are a rubbish advert? Or maybe the fact that Eddie ditched them to coach England counted against then? Or maybe the RFU wanted all their Autumn games at Twickenham so that they keep all revenue? All three is my guess.

Hi Roy, I believe the rule changes that steer the game more towards running rugby (as favored by SH teams) is that it is a more saleable product. This will only continue as broadcasting provides so much of the revenue. Although there are still rugby purists around, they are aging and the future is spectacular tries/offloads/steps etc.
