home advantage is huge and the rankings take that into account. The only team that consistently wins away from home against top tier opposition is NZ. The only team to win away from home in the 6 nations against anyone other than Italy was Ireland, and Wales just won a tour in the southern hemisphere. There you go, top three teams in world rugby
No they havent, they nearly beat NZ last year, and comprehensively beat England this year. Scotland were blooding a lot of young players against USA.
It was surprising to see the USA beat Scotland. Maybe the USA used their first-rate team instead of their B team against Scotland?
has everyone forgotten that Wales beat South Africa a few weeks back?
Wales are very good. Keep in mind that they also started lots of second rate players last time we played against them. If Rieko and Waisake Naholo didn't absolutely tear their backline to pieces they easily could have given us a good run for their money. In regards to everything but points we were pretty much even with them last year. Maybe they'd be even better if they had a better assistant coach... #nomorerobhowley
Great accomplishment to be no1 for 9 years. Well done to the boys, selectors and coaches. England will be back. They are missing some key players like Lawes, Joseph, Teo, Watson & Hartly to name a few. With those players back in they are a totally different side. Scotland losing to USA says a lot about Townsend as coach. They have fallen since he took over.
and that... is what its like being no.1 *to all those other teams - beating the All Blacks and becoming no.1 but staying no.1 is another. Most (no.1/future no.1) teams are just gonna jump and grab the apple from the branch. ABs are going to climb the tree and stay there to take everything that is on offer. the key is to be honest to the core about ones own performance and using EVERYTHING in your power to fix it.. consistently. England lack that honesty part.. too much pride.
@macka what was it?
NZ No. 1, NZ coached No.2, NZ coached No. 3 ranked teams in the world.
He's got to 60 weeks of ban now.
They beat England? So did France, the Barbarians, Ireland and South Africa.
Seriously tho..... didnt Wales just beat the Springboks ??
Ratings dont mean jack come RWC time......even All Blacks looking shakey and unless we pull our finger out, its going to be a sad tournament.
Lets be honest, Wales arent number 3. The Springbok side they beat was their 5th team and shouldnt have been allowed test status. Argentina are rubbish right now. Ireland rightfully second, the rest is a lottery.
Wales beat their first team last time they met to. Not that it will make a difference, most AB supporters dont care about anyone else except themselves (Which means a severe lack of respect to other teams)
Bloody kiwis
they have fallen since he took over they managed to beat england under him, so i dont think theyre doing too bad.
Third in the world and still wont beat the abs.
I have to say I disagree. The six nations is a stronger tournament than the rugby championship at the moment. England were ranked 2nd in the world going into this years championship and still finished 5th. If anything the rugby championship has the advantage regarding rankings as all sides have regular opportunities to play NZ and receive a major rankings boost with a win while suffering little dent to their rankings for a loss. Most NH sides get to play NZ once every couple of years at most. Wales can be a bit hit and miss but they probably are better than SA, England and Argentina at the moment so 3rd isnt that far off the mark. They would lose as usual to Australia though.
Yeah but how bout them USA Eagles aye?
