They never had an economic base, they planted a few crops, pillaged the native resources (Moa) wiped out other Iwi (Moriori) and fought each other ( Te Raparaha) They did not trade or own anything. They did not build cities or create any industry or manufacturing. Goods and services were not traded. They had a hierarchy of leaders commoners and slaves.

Why do do many women (I am one) jump to sex when any phrase, saying etc is used. I thought of boys getting dirty, breaking stuff and themselves, farting, eating for Africa etc etc etc. Why do people jump in the gutter - not everything is about sex/girls for goodness sake let kids be kids!!!!!!!!!!

Some Maori are extremely wealthy - as are some non Maori. Some Maori are not wealthy as are some non Maori. Around $1.95 billion paid as treaty settlements to date equates to around $18 million per Iwi so maybe this could help to mitigate the environmental issues.

spending $290 a week for daycare to more $1000 for a nanny. And I dont want a nanny. I dont want someone else taking my place. The daycare staff take your place anyway????? If both parents work their child misses out on so much in their important early years. Where is their choice about their needs being met. Why cant mum or dad give a couple of years to the most important job there is. Life is not fair and wont be until both men and women can bear children and then the real fighting will begin. And we wonder why there is so much depression in our young ones and why they feel so lonely how many live in a house not a home.

Yeah thats why so many retailer workers drive Porche! The big chains might be fleecing you but small business aint. Just not enough demand in NZ to import many things at the good prices. Sydney sells more of our items in a week than NZ does in 6 months its all about economies of scale.

Is there anyone left at Spark to slash and burn? When the head honcho collecting $74000 per week and 2000 staff are on over $100,000 you gotta find the funds somewhere for increasing salaries and bonuses. There is no ethical or moral requirement for a NZ business to provide employment or reliable services.

Depends on what the job/persons perceived worth. Football players can get millions because of their pulling power that makes others lots of money on their back. Making money is the only skill that gets high salaries not the profession - the highest earners had a unique skill and/or product - the world aint logical or fair.

We run a business that cannot pay the living wage. It employs 3 people in a small town so we struggle to pay the bills. While we pay the staff first, then rent, IRD etc we will close when the living wage is compulsory as we just dont have the turnover. 25 years in business with ups and downs but it will be a relief to close and stop collecting taxes etc. for the government for free. I only hope people spend their extra income locally and it boosts our economy not the global economy.

They have been this inefficient for a couple of years! Very hard when you are a small business calling them and tying up the phone that brings in the money that IRD wants to clip the ticket on!!!!!Talk about biting the hand that feeds you!

Possibly are workers in hospitality, tourism, construction, transport, farmers, some teachers, some nurses, bus drivers, train conductors, manufacturers, pilots, retailers, plumbers, care workers i.e. anyone who - when they dont turn up to work that is actually missed by the public/person that needs them...
