The idea of paying into super when you started work many years ago was for a comfortable retirement but alas many governments have raped that fund ,now they complain theses no money left or very limited monies, whos fault this that , not the tax payers , far as Im concerned, we the tax payer should look after our pensioners and the sick, the rest of them can get out and get to work, if we need to bring in workers from over seas to work in shops, taxi and general labour jobs etc , their shouldnt be any unemployment but no ,we pay millions for the unemployment benefits and still import workers etc

So we get a 5.3% increase in rates, less money in our pockets, the mayor gets a 7% pay increase more money in her pockets, Ive not had a wage increase in 3 years.,. It sucks to be a wage earner.... so I wonder , will that position get a 70% pay increase over the next 10years as I understand it;rate payers will have to fork out 53% rates increase over the next 10 years

More wasted money , doesnt this mayor and her CEO know that there time is over. We the rate payers need a business person to run out city, encourage businesses to come to our city, more job growth , we have nearly a brand new city, use it to its best advantage but not with out building infrastructure as required not when its to late, just look at Auckland never kept up with infrastructure now what a mess .

Im sick and tired of the council not just this one but the others beforehand , they just keep on spending on rubbish , there core was sewage, fresh water , parks , library, ( now with internet etc librarys are rather out dated) streets and rubbish collected and that was the way it was suppose to be , now its greed , how much can we guys spend , ratepayers will pay no matter what !

Now watch this mayor and her council waste the money, on say, a new touch screen or a new cycle way etc etc .......o and pay rise for the CEO of the airport, who has very little to do with how much the airport makes , planes must land some where and people dont like spending much time in any airport, over size bus stop and over priced lol

Whats the point of voting or referendums , politics just do what the elites demand , we the taxpayer / ratepayer are just their cash cow and now Dunedin stadium will go back into the red , I couldnt give a toss about rugby , now even more !

Got to remember all of us rate payers, our mayor gets nice pay rise but if our city goes belly up ( bankrupt)we as a rate payer are liable for that debt, the banks can and would demand there millions plus if we dont pay up they can and would bankruptcy each and every one of us who dont pay there ransom, while she walks away, so do all the council members, and yes it can happen .

Lab and nats have been robbing the EQC account since the early 80s or more correct 1984 . 72 years NZERS have been paying in to the EQC account, yes we have had pay outs, but ...... now its empty but our EQC payment level on our insurance has increased remarkably, still want more money form the tax payer , you the MPs and PM on both sides live with in yr means , ...ba......s

Im totally against selling assets , we the ratepayer have brought and paid for these assets , yes we sometimes get low divided but we get a divided , if we sell them we get nothing but one off payment then we have empty coffers, then just keep banging the rate payers , thank god Ill be dead a gone

If stuff paid more attention to nz matters, ie petrol now $2.36c ltr (91) diesel $1.75c ltr chc price , this really going to effect all of us ,ie roll on cost to every item we buy, just to top it off ,roughly 4 cent tax rises on petroleum at the end of September, thanks NZF,GREENS and labour
