How could Sleeping Dogs not be on the list!

Shaker Run? Race for the Yankee Zephyr? Battle Truck? Classics ha ha!

Stickmen. The washed out lighting throughout the whole flick, emulating the pasty pool hall lighting, is brilliant. Plus a minimilist plot line with superb pace.

oh dear. sarcasm or do you truly not know how this works

The title asks for under-rated movies guys... not name your favorite kiwi film. Not sure how heavenly creatures would qualify as under-rated. Id have added In my fathers den.

Bad Taste, the Devil Dared Me To, Eagle vs Shark

Once Were WarriorsWhale RiderWhat Became of the Broken HeartedOut of the BlueGood Bye Pork PieCrooked EarthTerror Peak

What we do in the Shadows - awesome movie.

The unedited version where they crawl across the top of the train to steal the horn.

Illustrious Energy, Ruby and Rata

Great to see Shopping on here. Loved this movie. Captured the darkness of small town NZ

Difficult to access these films now unless you have them on DVD yourself. Its almost impossible since Netflix and the subsequent closing of the video stores to get hold of films that are more than a year old and locally made.

Underrated? Hmmm...Sleeping Dogs, Smash Palace. Bruno Lawrence in Frontline, just to throw a spanner in the works (yes I know its Aussie and a series but man, hes good).

Out of the Blue, the Aramoana story and Whale Rider. probably my favourite nz movies. those or The Devil Dared Me To
