Rotorua lost a goodun when he moved to Tauranga. I see Devon Sea Foods another Rotorua outfit is number one for its fish and chips too.Immigration has certainly changed our taste buds but good old pies and fish and chips still rule and whos doing a great job with both, immigrants. Brilliant!
No never ! My wife makes the best pies of any type . And she makes me Bathurst burgers too on race day,different recipe every year! Fav pie Parsnip and Date .
im not a mushroom fan but the pies contents look nice and meaty not just pastry encased gravy. well done !too far for me to travel to try one so i will settle for an excellent shefield pie shop pie
Was the competition open to all bakeries or only those bakeries that use Bakels products?

Im not so sure about that mate. âTarget Bake Houseâ on Phelps Pl, Glendene have the Best Bacon & Egg, Mince & Cheese and Stake & Cheese on NZ. They good old classics.
Pat can you open a pie shop on the Kapiti Coast we need tasty pies and they sound yummy.
Choice Pies are pretty good esp the Pork & Sage
I find stakes a bit too fibrous to digest....
Im sure it comes down to personal preference but its hard to argue against a panel of judges and the fact it beat the other 5000+ pie entries!

Actually you are quite wrong, its me that came up with the parsnip pie recipe and i do know how to use the pie maker. Any way my wife hasnt read this article..I dont HAVE to say anything,my relationship with my wife isnt like that!
