Why should the NZ taxpayer foot this bill? This is not NZs problem. This is an Australian territory. Bad enough Ms Ardern chooses to give millions to the Pacific Islands anyway. We have enough issues with child poverty - charity begins at home - not on some remote pacific Island.

My wife and I are 62 years old. We have been paying taxes for 47 years. I have worked in intensive labouring jobs and my body is knackered. I have paid my dues and look forward to retiring on the pension, meagre though it may be. This government seems to have funds galore to give to Pacific Islanders who dont pay a cent of tax or contribute anything to the economy. This government has billions to chuck at climate change and consultants. Cmon Ms Ardern, be fair.

Why should Te Reo be compulsory for students who are not Maori by birth? What use is Te Reo in the business world. They would be better off learning Chinese. Why should less than 10% of the population dictate a language that 90% of people have no connection with. Let the Maori people teach Maori to their off spring to keep the language alive.

Sam = poser seeking publicity - watch the TV offers come rolling in. Jules = female dog - cut the guy loose - he deserves better than a drama queen like you. Ksenia- just wants her face on the tele.

Its because many vegans are so in your face about killing animals, especially to hunters and fishermen. They dont like it when i tell them plants are alive too!And as for butcher shop attacks ,meat processing plants humanely slaughter the animals so there is no cruelty for the majority of meat that people do eat. I dont harass vegans but i do speak up when they start harassing meat eaters .

Charity begins at home. Instead of becoming the dumping ground for people who are unable to settle in their own country, we should be taking care of the homeless unemployed new zealand citizens already here. Unless they are sponsored by a church group who are prepared to mentor them and keep an eye on them and unless they have guaranteed employment, they should be sent back from whence they came.

No make the drivers responsible for not kicking students off buses to make room for Adults. Also refrain from driving past and ignoring students at bus stops, theyre trying to get to school or uni so they can know the difference between there and their and theyre. Seems to me from other recent stories drivers do not have all passengers welfare in mind at all. Obviously they operate under perhaps personal prejudice and bias against certain social groups depending on their(drivers) own educational and economic background. Same as being racist only in a different way. Train and screen drivers better prior to employment i say. Teach drivers to be kind or get another job if they arent suited!

It looks like its supposed to catch the sun.We dont often have northerly winds here, prevailing wind is westerly,go stand in the crescent or monument corner and see for yourself.

So you would design your house with big windows on the south to catch the frost, and small windows on the north so as not to take advantage of free solar energy?

Good to see some of the original musicians like Kevin Sexton and Johnny Waters being recognised. During the 50s and 60s when most people spent their weekends attending local dances, guys like these were the back bone of the music scene. Also worthy of mention and now deceased are John and Josy Rodenburg who were original members of the Musos club and gave over 40 years service to the music industry. Josy continued to play in bands for decades after John died and played music right until a week before she died in 2015. She taught generations of pupils how to play the piano.

Youll have to wait it out for only potholes. Finally after at least 15 months of broken concrete bridge rails they are fixing the Iron Bridge on the Ingill-Riverton highway. We also have many potholes and some may be caused by logging trucks but much help is made by milk trucks. We want our potholes fixed on this main road before you get your backroads done.

Yet another example of how the Green MPs have no idea what they are doing. Maybe demand a bond of a grand from each person before they go onto DOC tracks - refunded when you sign out.

Actually you are quite wrong, its me that came up with the parsnip pie recipe and i do know how to use the pie maker. Any way my wife hasnt read this article..I dont HAVE to say anything,my relationship with my wife isnt like that!
