Im a landlord. Cats yes .. but sorry, dogs are a no. Its just too much of a risk.I can appreciate the joy animals can bring, but if Im the one putting the roof over your head, dogs will have to wait until you have a home of your own... and dont give me any of that ânot fairâ, âtenants have rights too❠rubbish. Its my right to protect my investment. End of.

Its very possible the reason he avoids nights out - and sex - and is so focused on money, is because for many years all his life has been about is providing for his wife and kids, saving cash instead of spending it alcohol, and being rejected physically. Now that the home is kid free and they likely have more cash to go around, his wife wants to break free and have fun, and be physically desired. Thats fine - but if she helped create the guy who stayed at home and was an awesome father and earner, she should also now be the one encouraging him in the other direction. In short, put the work in honey, cos he deserves at least that no?

Bart is voiced by a woman, but is anyone angry about that?!Hank Azaria is one of the original voices from the shows beginnings & is brilliant at it. He voices many of the shows hilarious characters .... its comedy. Its NOT offensive .. people who claim it is are the ones who are offending.

Awful, just awful. His wife has decided to completely disregard her husbands desires - which are directed at her, and not misguided - and has made a decision for both of them without seeming to care how it affects him .. or how it affects them as a couple.Yes he needs to raise it with her in a balanced, caring way .. but I really feel for him as she doesnt seem to have raised this with any balance or care at all. Hes been completely disrespected.

I think the downvotes may actually be that many people wont understand why the author is being praised so highly. Tbh its not like the article is some sort of great revelation .. its really just a simple tale of one woman and how shes felt about her headscarf habit (no pun intended). Its a great read - I really enjoyed it. But calling the author an amazing woman etc is a bit over the top.

I kinda want to like this article .. but every time Verity makes a really good point about something meaningful, she throws in a mass-generalisation too. Like assuming all men would verbally abuse all women who reject their advances. Umm no .. MOST of us either go back to our mates and get laughed at, or go ask someone else.We also dont tell men not to dance, or show joy in public. What do you call all the screaming and shouting we do when the All Blacks score a try?But there are some extremely good ideas talked about here too. Aargh - conflicted!!

My wife and I turn/turned 40 this year .. our story is very similar. I think its not only about age, but also about bonding and growing together outside of the bedroom that improves things sexually. Sex with someone you know intimately is so much different to sex with a relative stranger .. they can both be fun, but I now know which one I prefer. We might not be getting extremely creative, but my wife certainly still finds ways to surprise me now and then .. and her growing body-confidence is definitely helping. I like to think the love and acceptance I show her on a constant basis has helped her be aware of how beautiful (and sexy) she is. It seeps in to our love life, but is not mutually exclusive to it. Aint love grand!!

Once again the entitled and quite frankly pathetic reaction from a couple of people has now become an national (perhaps even international) story. Most comments here seem to agree the pram issue lies with the mothers/parents .. lets leave it at that shall we?

+25−1

These are the stories I love. Yes there are options like surgery or hypnosis etc .. but really its about changing what you actually do with willpower - and accepting responsibility for ones self. Blimmin awesome work Amanda!

I love how guys showing how well theyve sculpted their bodies by following a certain regime has to be criticised as being all about masculinity. Cant guys just do something without it having to be some sort of attack on women, or another attack by the patriarchy. How about we just go dang, a lot of guys are doing the same thing, and they look physically amazing?.. no, lets not go praising guys at all .. its not like Kiwi males have any struggles! #sarcasm

+26−2

Big difference between a feminist, and an ANGRY feminist. The former is someone who believes in equality and justice, regardless of gender. The latter is someone who is really, REALLY annoying.

+22−2

The opening line should read: If men who abuse their positions of power were not yet beginning to feel nervous, now might be a good time... yes, most of this sort of behaviour is committed by men, but not all male bosses are creeps needing to be tarnished with the same brush. Claim all powerful men should feel nervous assumes that all men who are doing well must also be horrible people.

+21−1

Ha ha - for once Verity, I think youve nailed it. Dudes can be idiots, especially when pack-mentality takes over. As a middle-aged white guy, I cant understand the whole cat-calling thing either .. along with sometimes humiliating women, theyre always humiliating themselves by doing it.

Conservative Kiwis would be shocked if they found out just how many respectable people in NZ are active users. People who partake in cannabis mainly keep it under wraps simply because of the uneducated stigma laid on them by non-users.Its this stigma that forces casual users to play a part in the seedy underworld of drug supply .. when more appropriate laws would allow us to be more educated about marijuana, ease crime associated with it, and make us a heck of a lot of money!Just like with alcohol, I certainly dont want my airline pilot or forklift operator being under the influence of cannabis at work .. but as long as were sensible in our approach to it, we wont be any worse off. There are idiots who always spoil things .. it wont make a difference to those people if weed is legal, or not.

+22−4

I just dont know why men are confused. As soon as an opinion piece makes a sweeping generalisation like this, I tune out.Not ALL men are confused. Sineads article is about ONE man not walking her in the dark .. so why assume its something ALL men struggle with? Many of us still believe in chivalry - but when we walk you to your car or open a door for you and dont get a polite thanks, we stop bothering.Besides, expecting men to be your saviour is the folly of women, not men. We are not here to save you - and the rhetoric from women over the last few decades has only cemented that idea.

I swear the only people who seem to care about trivial rubbish like this are the people who write the articles about it. If two adults decide what to call their child, why does the whole world have to be dragged into a debate .. especially when said parents were ok with their decision?!

+17−0

Kiwis dont breed âsexist menâ.All children are born ego-centric. From birth they believe the world revolves around them, & that they are the most important thing of all. Its a parents role to teach children that ALL people are important, and that the rights and desires of all people ought to be respected.Failing to do this means children continue to put themselves ahead of others as adults - & in males it leads towards what you would consider to be sexist behaviour. The same can be said about girls who, if they are raised poorly, will display traits of neo-liberal feminism or what is referred to as â˜The Princess Complex. We need to put an end to the constant belittling and shaming of men that seems so prevalent at the moment. Women have suffered vast injustices based on their gender, but subjecting pain and shame on one gender as â˜payback for what the other endured isnt progressive - its an archaic form of torture.

She raised some major awareness for a clothing brand that is doing something immensely positive .. plus Id wager that many of those average Brtons youre talking about ALSO pour decent cash in to 3rd World labour clothing. You sound so sour.

+20−3

So, about 2 jobs per store on average .. you could do the same by axing a couple of average staff & giving more hours to hard workers .. it's hardly headline-worthy.

One day were all going to wake up to the huge shock that is an article by Verity that DOESNT slam men in some way, or claim women to be superior.Ever thought that men actually like to do nothing? When women feel the mid-life slump, they go off and do all sorts of stuff that, to us men, seems well - to be honest - pretty lame. Sitting around playing Playstation, drinking beer, watching sport .. that doesnt mean were doing nothing .. were just doing things wed prefer to do.Bikram, numerous Sunday latte sessions, or learning a new craft .. this man says NO THANKS!!

+17−3

.. often the care that (fathers) give is carefully managed or guided by mothers. If you claim control, dont be surprised when it becomes hard to ask dad to take over .. and if youre constantly telling him youre doing it wrong, be prepared for plenty of do it yourself responses.

+14−0

All Ive really seen in the show so far is a bunch of guys who might have their flaws, but at least theyve been trying - and have been open to feeling attracted to their partners. The women - and Sam - seemed so caught up in looks, and completely superficial aspects of their husbands. Looks fade - but I reckon most of the guys are pretty lucky to escape such bores.

+14−0

Imaging criticising women who refuse to â˜go down, and the backlash that would follow!! A lot of women refuse doing things like that too! This article has nothing at all to do with whether guys are willing to do certain sexual acts. The point is that both girls and should be educated about how to communicate effectively when engaging in sexual activity - not criticising guys/men who might not enjoy a certain act.Or, in the 70s/80s did you learn nothing at all?!

+30−16

Yes Mark .. but also, no.Hansen has had great talent to work with, but not in every position, and certainly not all of the time.Only a myopic ABs supporter would truly believe ALL of our top 23+ players are superior to anyone else. Individually there are better players out there (Pocock and Creevy would easily start in a World 15).Weve also only just started blooding some talent. Our newer front-rowers, the other Barretts and Jack Goodhue arent world beaters yet. Outside of Ben Smith and Beauden, were also very inexperienced in terms of a backup 15 and 1st-5.Then there are the injuries and absences Hansen has had to navigate. Crotty, Retallick, SBW and skipper Read have missed games, while the worlds best fullback (B.Smith) spent time out too.Is there pressure on Hansen? Sure - there always is when youre coaching the team everyone else is targeting. Yet Hansens record has still been incredible in 2018, despite the continued improvement of all other nations .... well .. then theres Australia ..

+14−0

Say wha?!?Current World Cup champions &, along with world class experience, Shag has been blooding the likes of Ioane, McKenzie, the 2 other Barretts, Frizzell, Hemopo .. & has given chances to numerous front rowers/hookers. Oh, plus â˜Triple-T.So, kinda exactly what youre asking for.

How is a tax on sugary drinks exclusively taxing the poor? That doesnt make sense. Do people with lots of money not also buy/consume sugary drinks? You are aware that poor people dont have to buy sugary drinks yes? Just like they dont have to have Sky, or smoke .. or go out to the pub every Saturday. Wanting to do something without the cash to pay for it .. thats just life.

Hank Azaria helped start The Simpsons and voices dozens of the shows characters - different races, religions and genders.Has anyone complained about Bart being voiced by a female? Is she not â˜stealing a role from a deserving young male voice actor?

+13−2

Hansen, Foster and Read deserve the blame for this one. Poor selections, poor usage of substitutes, and lame-duck backline play. Some of the guys tried their hardest (Whitelock and Savea were excellent). McKenzie is simply not up to it imo.

+12−1

What you're explaining is eerily similar to the stance of the neo-liberal left in general. If something makes them feel insecure, instead of accepting it's their own reaction that's the issue, they want the entire world to stop doing the thing that makes them feel that way. It's ridiculous.

+11−1

Not being in a relationship with someone anymore doesnt have to mean you stop caring about them. I think what J.Garner did was awesome .. God forbid my wife ever decides Im no longer the one for her, I hope she still cares for me like that. He needed rescuing, and she showed what an excellent human being she is.

+11−1

The question you should be asking is, âWhy are people offended at all?!âEvery race, religion and sexual orientation is mocked and celebrated on The Simpsons. Why do we care that Apu is voiced by a white Jew? Azaria does an amazing job of it .. as he does with many other crazy characters on the show.Again, theres NO reason to be offended.Btw .. Im a skinny guy and a red-head .. Ive been mocked PLENTY! I got over it, cos thats the grown up thing to do.

The married man claimed you are going to waste being single because he thought it would be the compliment you needed to feed your ego .. ultimately so you could feed his by sleeping with him. It doesnt mean he actually believes what he said .. it was a cheap line from a creep. The other argument to the assumptions in this article is that, if youre obviously single, youll get hit on more. Instead of claiming it to be some sort of abuse to your singledom, how about just be stoked youre getting the attention? The whole article seemed so bitter and full of over-generalising.

+12−3

Well of course people lending you money at extremely high interest rates are going to treat you nicer .. especially compared to a govt. entity which is trying to restrict handouts funded by the Kiwi taxpayer. What a ridiculous article. If someone opts for a loan shark because they find WINZ staff arent as friendly, I have very little sympathy. Besides, WINZ has rules that govern who they can give money to, and why .. loan sharks and payday lenders dont have the same rules.

+12−4

A few big points I feel this tale highlights:1 - most (I say MOST) people dont even know themselves until their mid-late 20s. Relationships that feel like The One before then often dont afterwards .. enjoy the time, but dont over-commit.2 - stop posting your whole life on social media!! Deleting posts/pics from Facebook, Instagram etc wont erase them completely .. once theyre on a server somewhere else, theyre there forever!

+16−9

I feel women having higher sex drives in mid-life is more anecdotal instead of based in science.Women spend years rejecting the sexual advances of their childrens fathers .. then when the kids are gone women want that â˜spark back again. What they fail to realise is they are the ones who doused that spark with gallons of ânot tonight❠and âis sex all you think about?!âBasically, women want sex .. they just stop wanting it with the man they married .. even though that man used to be exactly who they did want sex with before they started saying âno❠to him.Men get sick of the rejection, so stop trying .. and women are surprised men stop trying, when theyre the reason men stop.Confused?

+21−14

Not full strength ABs at all. B.Smith needs to be at 15, with a genuine right-wing .. Sam Cane should be there too, & the front row wasnt our best 3.Agree on your other points though .. Ian Foster seems out of his depth in particular.

You win Homer9! Yes, soooo important that the leader of our country is fun, cool and young .. cos those are the prerequisites for a good Prime Minister huh!The best teachers I had at school werent nice, cool, young or fun .. they lead me well, made sure I learned what I had to, and yelled at me when it was appropriate.

+6−0

Ireland deserve credit, but lets get honest - the ABs were woeful.Once again we handed possession to the opposition, made poor choices, had poor execution and discipline.I never want to see McKenzie in the 15 again, and Hansen needs to realise when his â˜star forwards are under-performing.Read and Retallick should have been subbed around the 50th minute, and some should have reminded our boys that holding on to the ball is a big part of the game.Well done the Irish - you beat us while only needing 1 try and a few penalties to do it.

+12−6

There are two things going on here:1 - Amelia Kerr is outstanding, especially considering her age.2 - The Ireland Womens Cricket team is terrible.Yes Amelia set a record by bashing an incredibly poor team .. but almost all massive records have come against terrible sides - so its not really valid to belittle her achievement by stating how bad Ireland are. I for one loved talking about it all morning (cos thats literally my job!)

If you reverse genders in both stories; the 1st author would be called a pig for being so physically judgemental .... & the person the 2nd author had drinks with wouldnt actually exist, because no guy would turn up to a first date, eat merrily and expect his date to pay for it.

+8−3

Ive noticed a lot of people who dont identify as straight get engaged/married quite early in life (Curry engaged at 21). I wonder if theres a greater emotional need to find someone who loves and accepts them fully, or perhaps after coming out, they assume the first love they find is the one? .... but then maybe its just because theyve spent so long thinking about what/who it is that they find desirable, that they are better at identifying who is right for them?

+11−7

Sure sure .. but if your BMI reading is way out of whack, kits still pretty accurate in suggesting you need to do something about your weight. I dont know why so many articles keep popping up trying to convince us all that being overweight isnt such a bad thing. It is. End of.

+4−0

You could also apply that to the supposed idea that Kiwi men arent great in bed. Kiwi women expect us to somehow intrinsically know what pleases them, but without giving us any help, guidance or advice. Ask for what you want ladies .. most of us would be far too happy to oblige - whether it be walking you to your car, or making your legs melt.

+8−4

Labour could have solved this easily but not offering tertiary students their first year if study for free. Studies have shown it hasnt encouraged more people to further studies, its simply added to our national debt. If theyd allocated that money to teachers instead, we wouldnt be in this situation.I mean honestly, whats more important .. an average primary school education, but free tertiary study .. or making sure our kids get the best start in life?!

I turned 40 this year .. and I also FINALLY got braces! Ive never wished to look much different .. but not having a nice wide smile has affected me in more ways than I can count. Its the centre of your face, and the main area people look when you speak with them.6 months on and my gnashers are starting to get in line nicely .. and the impact its having on my self-esteem is pretty wicked! My wife is worried I might usurp her in the hotness stakes once I get the metal out of my mouth .. but Im just looking forward to closing the gap on her! :)

Many studies have proven that children who dont socialise well before the age of 5, struggle to share and display bullying tactics are incredibly likely to be outcasts or criminals later in life.In short, the author needs to act, and act FAST!

The only problem I have with Fortnite is that the game itself is pretty bang-average!The developers made the basic game FREE to download, so masses of people (mainly kids) have got in to it .. but take away the â˜free-factor and barely anyone would be playing it.I know that sounds Uber-cynical, but thats the reality. Pokémon Go, Angry Birds etc .. all the same model. Free to get, easy to play .. and in-game purchases to make money from suckers.Fortnite has upped the ante in terms of online/group play sure, but if it hadnt been free we wouldnt be seeing articles about it - except perhaps reviews giving it 2/10.

Disorders of Sexual Development is the most common scientific/medical usage. At times it is also called â˜Disorders of Sexual Differentiation .. and less frequently referred to as â˜Differences in Sexual Development.Intersex is NOT considered part of the continuum .. it is considered as an irregularity.

Shes having â˜happy hour drinks a few nights a week. If it was woman complaining that her man was out drinking with the lads 2-3 times a week, and wasnt sleeping with her, shed have masses of support for her cause!Steve and Mia offered nothing to the author, except to suggest that it was HIM who needed to try harder. They didnt even consider it might be her with the work to do, which would have been courteous at the very least.

When women hit mid-life, they finally get the time they wanted to spend time on and for themselves doing things they always wanted to do.When men hit mid-life, they realise they still have to work the same job, and that at home its still not about them. Its not about women handling mid-life better .. its that mid-life actually IS better for them. They finally get to have some fun .. for men its the sad reality of status quo.
