Took a device free holiday last year - absolutely no reception where we were, limited electricity and surrounded by nature. Kids loved it. Swimming, playing, reading books. Were they looking forward to screen time by the end of the two weeks? - absolutely. But so were we. It certainly didnt kill any of us not to have them though.
I agree with Sharon, our bathroom smells like Pioneer pool during and after a shower. It's terrible. My hair is terrible and a member of our household has terrible eczema from the chlorinated water. We know this because we have resorted to paying for water to wash her hands in and it's cleared it up off her hands.
I was surprised when I had prolapse after my second baby. My GP referred me to a physio who had a particular interest in treating prolapse. During the examination she gave me exercises to do which were very helpful. It still took nearly a year to recover even doing those. I really feel for women who dont get the right advice and right treatment.
Seriously? What a waste of money. Here's an idea. Trees provide shelter and shade. If you consider the Octagon in Dunedin - busy cafes, grass areas, paved areas and trees. Simple and welcoming.
I cant believe the replies here. Entry level position for person with no skills can get Training and secure income with a progression plan and people are scoffing at it.
I think this depends on where you live. We have two adults and two children based in Christchurch and have been with two different power companies. Power is about $250 per month in summer and $500 in winter. Very little diff between the two companies.
If I am a manager and required to meet a budget with whatever product my employer has I cant force consumers to buy. I can try my best and so can my team but if the consumer doesnt want to buy- for a variety of external reasons- then I dont get a performance bonus. Seems pretty simple. My son has had some excellent teachers and some terrible teachers - and they all got paid the same regardless of effort or skill.
My first midwife was amazing. Took control at the hospital and everyone did as they were told. Post natal care at the hospital was the worst. I discharged early because there was no point in being there. Nurses didnt know anything. Plunket was great. My first midwife quit due to poor pay. Second babys midwife was terrible but lack of midwivesMeant I couldnt swap so I saw my own gp twice for pregnancy care because I didnt trust my midwife. I birthed at CHCH womens. The hospital staff were wonderful. The lead midwife at the hospital was terrible. I discharged early due to demand for beds and swapped to Plunket care immediately to get away from my midwife. Its a case by case basis and women need to be encouraged to see a gp or obstetrician If they have worries about their care. This should be funded.
We have given up going out also. Its ridiculously expensive and the food/service is usually underwhelming for the money. I can cook pretty well so everyone just comes to our house for celebrations.
Time for some ribbing - but no meat
You don't have to tell me. You can just say no thanks. Like I do, as a gluten free person. ˜No thank you' works just fine.
Digital detox: Can my son go screen-free for the summer?

Abortion: I've never regretted my decision
Thanks. We were the same. Discussed it fully and was supported by him through it all. Never once regretted it.
Chlorine levels in some Christchurch water might be enough for swimming pools

A surprising number of young mums are seeking help for prolapse

Bold Cathedral Square design still needs funding plan

MSD report shows half of unemployed return to Work and Income 18 months after gaining employment

'Why was Mum allowed to rack up a $12,000 bill?'

Primary teachers and principals strike for first time since 1994

Will meaningful changes be made to maternity care?

How long is too long to wait for food?

Why so much 'fauxffence' over Jamie Oliver's jerk rice?
Exactly what I was thinking!
The Aussies have chopped Coke Zero - how long before we do?
I totally agree. Coke no sugar tastes terrible.
