20,000 Kona EV orders were placed in Norway, but only 2,500 are allocated to Norway. The 12 Kona EV for NZ are all pre-sold without a test drive done in NZ.Some overseas countries allow Kona EV online orders only, i.e. buy without a test drive.NZ pricing appears 20% higher than in Britain (excl. VAT/GST/UK plug-in grant).Could it be this is riding the wave of hype?Lets bring in more EV competition first.

The 28,400 GBP + VAT are BEFORE the UK government plug-in grant of 4,500 GBP.Brits can buy a Kona EV Premium 64kW for 24,000 GBP+VAT. That would translate to NZD 53,000 INCL. 15% GST and INCL. a fictitious grant like the British one. Now the difference would be 21,000 NZD. Excluding the British grant the difference is still NZD 12,000. No small fry.

Agree. Add to it that these current EVs perhaps will not be keeping their value like IEC cars do, because the price of batteries are predicted to fall a lot in the coming years while their range will only increase. It could be that in 4 years time nobody will even look at an EV 2018 for a quarter of $74K because the EVs 2022 will be cheaper and better. Remember when a CD player cost thousands of $ in the 70ies? There was no second-hand market for those.

True, people chose their levels of luxury and advanced technology as they see fit. What stands out though is that in Britain this Kona EV with the same specs costs 28,400 GBP+VAT - about 54,400NZD+GST. With the UK grant that comes down to 23,900 GBP+VAT. Prices will come down once we have more EV brands and competition here.

the article says In recent months, Inra scientists received state authorisation to grow four varieties of resistant grape called Araban, Floreal, Voltis and Vidoc which will lead to wine bottled by 2020.Sounds unlikely that resistant grapes were already bottled last November

In many ways I agree with you, but there are other factors too. For example, my neighbours construction did not require a boundary survey. Then part of the construction work ended up encroaching on another neighbours property. The latter found out when it was too late, fought the Council, lawyers got involved. At the end, the Council was in the wrong, had to cover all legal cost. Effectively every rate payer had to fund the debacle. Fair use of rates?

AC fast charger at home is fine when you have 3phase power. Most of us dont. On single phase, one has to throttle the AC fast charger back to slower levels to ensure the total line capacity of 15kW cannot ever be exceeded. Otherwise, the whole house will go dark â¦In my house I recorded rare peaks of 10kW without an EV.
