As a shareholder/farmer I am so over hearing about having pride in your cooperative. How do you have pride in anything that is dominated by its multi farm owner shareholders, run by an old mans club (the board) you scratch my back Ill scratch yours, ex chaired by someone totally not up to the job and run by a Chief executive that was another dairy companies reject. Fonterra is the biggest joke out. Rather than buy shares you may as well flush your money the result is pretty much the same. The forming of Fonterra was the New Zealand dairy industries biggest mistake. The day that NZCDC ceased to exist so did the whole concept of a cooperative. The only thing that would disgust me more than Fonterras performance would be any form of payout/golden handshake to Spierings, he should crawl away and be thankful we dont ask him to reimburse his undeserved remuneration.

The problem being with DIRA is that most of the companies Fonterra a forced to supply to are largely foreign owned, like Synlait and Meadowfresh, I know a lot goes there as our milk usually goes there as we are on a close by run.

We should not be getting in any business arrangements in any area whatsoever with Chinese business. Just google Professor Anne-Marie Brady, a Canterbury University lecturer and read what has happened to her because she stood up against and spoke about the invasive movements of China into the Pacific, specifically New Zealand. It is seriously not good. People forget China is a communist nation and they dont like no for an answer.

Too many people have expectations of how things should or should not go in labour. My philosophy was hope for the best but be prepared for the worst, as in hope its a breeze, as natural as possible but be prepared for c section or any other complication that may arise. If its all good thats great but if its less than what you hoped for you will not feel robbed. Ultimately the main goal is a perfectly happy and healthy baby no matter how it gets out.

We eat a lot of chicken purchased unfrozen from the supermarket and in 32 years of married life we have never had illness from eating it. I always wash my hands before and after handling it raw. I always put any chopping boards or knives etc used cutting fresh chicken straight in the dishwasher so that nothing else comes into contact with it and lastly alway cook it really really well almost to excess. This is especially important when barbecuing you need to cut into pieces to check they are well cooked right through or to the bone. Its commonsense really.

Fonterra farmers are educated enough to know Fonterra is not what it should be, its not the farmers that need educating its the board and the CEO. How does that work for increased value. If you have farms that supply Synlait or farms that supply Fonterra, if you were to sell the whole lot presuming they were in the same area the only difference in the value will be the value of the shares that go with the Fonterra farms. The land value will be relative to other farms in the surrounding area whether supplying Fonterra, Synlait or whomever else is in your area that you can supply to. The only area that who you supply has an impact on your farm value is if you are fortunate enough to supply Tatua.

The problem with some, not all, of these high tackle calls is that the tackle starts around the shoulders and then the player being tackled goes down and as that happens the arm comes up around the neck. At full speed it looks like a clothes line hit but at reduced speed you can see that it is because the player being tackled has gone down. At the speed of the game it it hard to think whoops hes going down I best let go before it gets to his neck. There are blatant high hits that must be dealt with severely but you need to make sure you have got the call right, sometimes it just happens inadvertently.

This would absolutely do my head in. I have done many many trips from Gore to Christchurch, 6 hours roughly, yes it is a bit shorter than Auckland to Wellington where at least one stop would be absolutely necessary. But I could not cope with having to stop this often and for that long. Gore to Christchurch, a coffee and snack at a drive through at the halfway point, around about Oamaru is it unless a bathroom stop is needed. I want to get to where I am going not p**s around like this EV involved. I could cope with a hybrid which would allow the distances, but never an EV unless they develop a battery that will get you at least 7 hours.

If only that were 1. At this stage Fonterra has to take anyone who wants to supply but getting out of Fonterra to supply elsewhere is not that easy, other companies are under no obligation to take you if they dont want or need to. You are pretty much screwed.

It makes no sense. If you are trying to outlaw smoking why would you decriminalise or legalise marijuana? What will parents say to their impressionable children, no matter what age, when the children say âmarijuana is legal Im going to try itâ, your answer will be but its not good for you, its addictive, it can lead to bigger problems and then your children say âthen why did the government legalise/decriminalise it if its bad for you? I get the legal/police system being bogged down by paperwork when having to charge a person for carrying one joint for personal use but making it as available as cigarettes currently are is not the answer.
