The older I get the more I understand that 1 beauty is a persons personality. How attractive is the person who smiles at you in the supermarket, comments on what a stunning day it is as you pass on the beach, appreciates the small stuff with a smile and gaze of wonder, is always willing to help friends and strangers. To me that is a sign of a 1 beauty. The stunningly attractive person who always looks down their nose at others, doesnt engage with people around them and is always busy busy busy with their own life is not attractive at all.

No no no This is so wrong! Councils should be looking at enforcing rainwater collection on all new builds before we even start considering something like this. If horticulture cant sustain its self with rain water collection then it shouldnt exist. This is pure madness

How many freedom campers are actually in vehicles that are certified and operated as such? In Nelson / Tasman we see hundreds of poorly maintained people movers / mini vans being camped in on public reserves and car parks. These are not at all self contained and we regularly see rubbish left and people using the bushes to thrown waste water / clean teeth / pee etc. These people wouldnt pay for campgrounds even if they were $10. Im all for supporting those who choose to freedom camp in full self contained vehicles that are regularly assessed and spot checks show they are being used as such. Anyone not fully self contained should be wheel clamped until fines are paid. Contract out the wheel clamping rights to local charities and let them make some money for a few years until the message sinks in.

Do we really need horticulture that cant sustain itself? If Waimea plains are too dry to produce without irrigation then should they exist? Why isnt TDC making it compulsory for ALL new builds (including surburban properties) to have rain collection tanks built into their properties?

Its a shame she wasnt going to be in hospital during the strikes, it wouldve been a much safer place when the DHBs were actually insisting on safe numbers of nurses:patients. In most cases this actually meant the wards would be better staffed than they usually are. Oh and doctors were going to be receiving double pay so there wouldve been more of them around too....

Breaking the cycle is the only way of solving the problem of increasing crime and incarceration. We all need to do our bit; get involved in community volunteering, support charities that make a difference and make an effort to understand the plight of others. Well done to this incredible Mum for being such an amazing role model to us all.

If these changes will provide extra services / support for our young people in crisis Im all for it but lets hold the DHB accountable for proving they have. Please give figures to the public on services provided pre and post changes. Like many other DHB changes I would be horrified to see these ending up with more managers and less services for those in need. Please prove us wrong for the sake of those in crisis.

Agree totally. Seems like sensible reorganization of very limited mental health funds to avoid the costs of having a team on call overnight for only a few calls a week. Surely this money is better spent on providing better services for these young people rather than keeping some staff happy receiving overnight allowances? From what Ive read there will still be a team 24/7 to deal with emergency calls and ensure anyone needing help is safe until they bc be directed to the best care.

It might attract some nurses from third world countries happy to work for peanuts in understaffed conditions and live in crowded accommodation? Nurses very culturally different from kiwis often with just enough English to scrape through tests. Nurses trained never to question management. Just what the health system needs. Not sure where the 500 extra nurses are going to come from otherwise.
