Fad? a quick Google will prove to you that vegans have been around about as long as believing in any type of God.

+32−8

there is plenty of research showing that reducing or eliminating meat from your diet will reduce your chance of bowel and other cancers. So theres one.

+28−12

and youre basing that on what exactly? You cant fault the ethical position of a vegan so you invent something you can? most people who give that much thought to what they eat would do the same with they buy.

maybe so. They have also benefited hugely from tax funded govt policy that allowed them to be able to have mobile, educated, healthy customers to sell to or who used their product or service. The assertion that they are more valuable or worthy because they pay more tax is nonsense. they almost certainly pay less tax than govt policy suggests they should - they just have good accountants.

tax cuts have shifted even more wealth to the already wealthy and the economy had already had its longest growth period under Obama. again, it was Obama who cracked/ cranked up domestic production, and shifting to Jerusalem? thats made a terrible situation even less likely to be solved. .. and people shouldnt be proud of keeping promises of the promises were dumb.

no problem giving them props, just want to keep things in perspective. there will be numerous people out there who have taken chances that havent paid off through some shear quirk of bad luck or fate. saying these successful people are something special and treating them with excessive reverence because of their good luck (and hard work) seems misplaced.

China deal bad? Yes, but probably legal and ccc supporting judicial review of consents granted by ecan. reality is that what the bottling companies take is a drop in the ocean compared to farmers. and while farmers are good for economy, they also force huge clean up costs onto the rate payers and still our rivers are buggered... and just wait til all their externalities filter down to our water table...if you want to make a positive environmental impact, youre looking in the wrong direction.

the greens are barely mentioned - Sage asks the EPA to do its job. And there is science about the danger of round up. Its just debatable how dangerous round up is. Guess you doubt climate science to? Or that farmers are polluting rural rivers... plenty of science to back up the greens three

many miss the point in the court case. its that Monsanto knew of dangers from prolonged and direct exposure but provided no warnings in the early days. Sure, they do now but for many it is to late

animals without value are pests? youve got some twisted logic. So were going to stop eating animals and then exterminate them all? compete for resources with vegans? what planet are you on?

Just because i live in a city and some chef takes a few isolated pics of some clearly awesome farmers, does not mean i cant complain about the majority of farmers who are not awesome. The science and your own eyes prove that not all farmers are behaving the same, they dont all love the land or if they do its an abusive relationship. If they did really love the land, we wouldnt have to drag the rest of the industry, kicking and screaming, down the environmentally responsible route - the rivers wouldnt be polluted. The fact that they are, makes a lie to the suggestion that all is well in the farming industry - and were talking dairy here.

condescending to think we need to save the planet??? You think the planet will take care of itself? have you seen much of the planet? much of it - generally where humans live - has turned into a polluted mess. it isnt and cant take care of itself. plastic and manufactured metal does not occur naturally so is not part of nature. if we create it we need to deal with it responsibly at the end of its life, or not create it in the first place.

oh my Lord. Thats a pretty selfish attitude. the countries that do it best have to sort in to multiple collections. and that 5 mins you spend figuring out should be a one time process unless you dont care enough to commit what you learn to memory. in the end, as with many things in a society if we all make the effort we can save give amounts of money and be better for the planet at the same time.

wrong. the case rests on what Monsanto knew about the dangers of round up and what they warned people about - which was nothing. A similar case with water would be if Monsanto said it was completely safe and encouraged you to drink 100 litres of water in a few minutes, knowing that for most humans that will cause water toxicity.

those examples do not help your point at all... have you spoken to a Jew or Irish person about the statement. there is plenty left there yet. and yes, we can be kiwis... once wrongs have been put right and we all have the same chance for success in nz regardless of race.

+11−12

yes. but we should also expect companies to be honest with us about the dangers of their product. this is what got Monsanto - not enough (if any) warnings in the early days - when they had evidence to suggest there should be some

which massacres are you talking about? in fact name just one will do. One massacre that occurred in nz (or anywhere) that was done to force gun control.

+0−4

actually it has. have you seen some of the awesome work of Ngai Tahu? one example. Benefiting from a Ngai Tahu financial education program, a maori kid in chch will likely have a better handle on their retirement than a pakeha. And plenty of opportunity from all of their business interests...

yep, bridges got an easy ride for sure. does that guy ever say anything positive or inspirational? Or even clever or cogent? his Monday morning slots tend to be him complaining about a govt policy, and when asked if hed reverse it when in power, his response is well... um... wed have to see how it was working

+3−9

yep. interesting where Labour see an opportunity to be brave and do what neither previous national not Labour govt could do, current National see a political opportunity- never mind what good would come from action and ill from inaction... Simon bridges of probably a hunter now..

to drive from a to b.again, why does someone need a semi automatic? are the deer that ferocious or hunters that scared that they need to pepper their target with bullets, or that unskilled that they need multiple shots in quick succession to take down their prey?

+1−14

whos talking about punishing? Were talking a few more is to dot and ts to cross if youre a legal owner. And what possible argument would anyone have for removing MSSAs from the market? oh and BTW, if you outlawed cars, only outlaws would own cars.. thats really not a strong argument.

there are 1000s of Maori alive today that can easily remember being physically punished for speaking te reo. There are many who if they were white, would not have been arrested, charged and sentenced as harshly.. and their families feel that pain. many more passed over for loans, jobs promotions. when consecutive pakeha dominated govts have accepted that unintentional institutional racism still exists... why cant you??

+11−26

that is easier to say if you havent got living memories of the state screwing you. It was only in the late 80s that treaty grievances dating back to 1840 could even be considered... and we are a ways off that work being completed. lets get back to square one before being a patronising....

it gives the police more opportunities to prosecute what was undesirable ownership in the past, they can make it illegal and remove both the criminal and gun from the street.
