That is what Her Majesty regularly does. Many are so subtle - such as brooch wearing - that theyre not picked up on. More as a quiet personal thumb to the nose gesture. I love this more public gesture of Respect though

A Busby would also be worn by Kings Guard.A Busby must not be confused with a Bearskin.Bandmasters and Foot Guard retain Canadian bearskin.... black bear pelt for regular and brown bear for officers.Since 2003 theyve tried to find an acceptable alternative .. synthetic fur doesnt sit correctly and looks stupid when wet. It doesnt hold in wind either. Just doesnt work so ... the Bearskin is still bearskin

I thought theyd recently reluctantly reverted to bearskin because of problems with the synthetics.

At the top of this article it refers to the band of the welsh guards wearing bearskin hats, they are not made from bearskin and are totally artificial they have been for the last 35 years.
