Jordie Barrett has a way to go before being special, recent form is average.

TJs biggest weakness is his mouth, particularly when he isnt the captain...can very easily get him in trouble.

Brad Webber needs to be in the team. Tj has dropped way off his passing has been avg and has no speed. I think Webber has passed him.

Jordie Barrett is a tremendous talent and has justifiably won over the selectors. Really? Because other than the media and commentators constantly telling us how special he is, Ive yet to see anything but the occasional flash of this supposed talent. Theres a lot of poor positional and defensive work, and even more throwing away of the ball with crazy loose passing. He may become a great talent, but hes a long way from it at the moment.

Before the France series, Lam was in the conversation. Now hes not. Now, as a Hurricanes fan, let me say, this is justified. He started the season with amazing offensive abilities - not just finishing, but Lomu-like demolishing of defences straight over the top of men. But hes been found out a bit - he has defensive lapses and perhaps hes tired, but he isnt keeping to the same standard in the back half of the season. The year before that was Vince Aso. Probably the best wing in the competition. This year hes struggled with injuries a little, but also its just been hard to find a place for him in the team given the play of others. My point is - one phenomenal season or most of one phenomenal season isnt and shouldnt be enough to unseat a talented incumbent. An incumbent should be well out of form before youd unseat him for a one-season player. Two or three very strong seasons in a row and then the player forces their way in. Not one.Anton Leinert-Brown is an example of this in practice. His debut All Blacks season was great, but since then hes been avreage - some great stuff, some not. We needed a midfielder right then so he wasnt unseating an incumbent, but if his timing for good form hadnt been right, would he have ever gotten in at well? It might be that he broke in based on the only great season he had coming at just the right time.

Jordie Barrett seems to be out of form and has not put in notable performances when selected in the mid field for Canes. Would like to see new talent given the chance ahead of him in ABs.

Anyone but Mitchell Drummond and Im a Crusaders fan too.

Pretty sure he just picked 4 newbies for the last testIaone got picked for his debut before our biggest test for 12 years last year. If your good enough, you get in. If your not, you dont.

Bridge is another Ben smith beats players every touch not to flashy just gets on with the job very skillful

Have to agree. No doubt he has the ability but hes holding is place based on promise rather than actual performances now, for the most part.

Ben Smith is best at 15, so remove him...NMS is like a Jacob Oram...very brittle and spends a lot of his time injured...Lam is still unknown although we do know he went missing in the last few games for the Canes when under the pump...I would pick Bridge

Cane was one of our best last year, by quite a margin. Not in form so far this year though. However, Todd has consistently outperformed Ardie Savea, especially when wearing the black jersey.

Its not only Jordie its nearly the whole canes team.

Jordie Barrett seems to be there for what he might become one day, not for what he is.

I suggest you go and watch some of the tapes of the crusaders. You will notice his work rate is high he is good under the high ball he tackles well as demonstrated in last weekends game against the blues. He came across in cover defence tackled the ball carrier imeadiately got to his feet and tackled the next ball carrier. He also has an ability to surge through tackles as well as doing his core roll of finishing.

Standing ovation at Eden Park. Cane is bloody good too but I would have Todd at least 2nd on the pecking order.

George bridge is going to make the all blacks. He reminds me of Jeff Wilson..He has all the skills and is positionally very good..We have some talent dont we Im glad Im not a selecter.

Why do the media think if they keep saying something often enough it will become 1? Continually prattling on about how great Jordie Barrett IS doesnt make it so. I actually think the guy COULD BE and MAY WELL BECOME great but how about letting the guy live up to the hype before handing out the knighthood eh,

Give it a rest!

When you whine about no opportunity for a certain player consider the incumbent and whether or not they should be dropped. Makes it more difficult when you look at the whole deal and not just parts. That is the difference between good journalism and mediocre writing.
