If you ban these from use on the footpath then where do you ride them? - on the road? - most of these scooters are not fast enough for the road, and as the article states... Overseas, there have been at least two electric scooter deaths due to crashes with cars - seems the only answer is to have dedicated areas for riding and speed limits on the footpath in more populated areas - maybe a scooter/bicycle lane on the footpath.I have seen bicycles riding faster than 30km on the footpath, so what ever rules are enforced (if any) they will need to be fair and applied to both bicycles and scooters - there are a lot of e-bikes around now too.
