This whole exercise is turning into nothing more than a very expensive which hunt funded by taxpayers. What is the point in going in at all when you cant even get past the first rockfall? It should have been an open cast mine from the start, but the greenies soon put a stop to that and this is the mess we are left with.

Most firearm offences are committed non non licensed people and criminals anyway. New laws will only effect the law abiding owners which will have little or no effect on the crime rate involving firearms..

Is not this just mass medication? It should be an individual choice, if I dont want to take the risk I boil it before drinking. Which I always do before making a hot drink anyway and you dont get that bitter horrible taste that the rest of the country put up with. Those days are coming to an end by recommendations by people who dont even live here.

Still nowhere did I read of the issue of battery replacement costs. How much do these cost to replace (BMW) and how long do they last? I have heard between 3 to 5 years. Not sure if this is 1 or not. So what would these figures come to when this is takenb into account? Say 5 years for a replacement. (being optermistic)

I have received 3 speeding tickets in the last 6 months, all for doing between 53 to 56 km/hr. The first in about 5 years. The last one for 56km/hr was when my car was having a WOF check done. I requested and received a photo but is impossible to identify the driver, and I know from the time and the background in the photo that I was not even driving. At 50 km/hr drivers become a target for abuse and road rage, and if you keep with the traffic flow you get ticketed. And keeping my car road legal - still get ticketed. Nothing unsafe about any of this, just pure revenue gathering. Quite ironic really.

When you are trying to do a right hand turn, with no turning arrow, often the striaght through traffic dosent stop coming and the turning traffic is left with no choice but to turn on a red light, it is the only safe time they get to go. If they strictly obeyd the road rules they would go nowhere. As for the turning arrow intersections, they stay green long enough to let 3 cars through, if there is a truck waiting then only that gets through. And if you take a bike you will probably get run over.

Goverment benefits are designed to keep people broke, they are not made for tax payer funded holidays. The sooner your give up any reliance on the goverment the sooner you are free to make as much money as your time allows. We gave up ours 6 years ago after the goveremnt would pay us (family tax credits) then want it all back again instantly, a bit like a loan shark. Give it up, and dont look back and you wont have any regrets.

It has plans on the cards all kept under wrap at the moment. Make no mistake - its comming, they are just waiting for a few more takers before they spring the trap.

If I wanted my kids to learn bible stories I would send them to sunday school. I did scripture classes at school in what is now year 5, even then I thought Adam and Eve and Noahs Ark stories were only figments of somebodys imagination, and I put them in the same basket as Donald Duck. These classes are of no value and a complete waste of school and the kids time.

How do you draw that conclusion? There are many studies that have been completed by Landcare and Crop and Food ( now Plant and Food) that show market gardens and cropping farms leaching far more nitrogen than dairying, with sheep and beef systems coming in last. You are right about wasting time and energy chasing a red herring.

According to scientists, the latest figures are that almost 50% of the worlds population rely on nitrogent fertilizer to stay alive. I would be more worried about whats going to happen when phosphate fertilizers run out when in 2035 they are expecting demand to be greater than supply, then its all downhill from there. That is definitly not an indefinate resource.

Old civilistations were easy to move around because they never had billions of dollars invested in underground electricity grids, sewage networks and crippling bauracracys to deal with, so they could pack up and move inland abit further to combat sea level rise, glabol cooling or global warming. Imagion if we all had to move inland now, the time it would take to get several million resource consents and building permits..........

Dan Corbette was on the radio 2 days ago saying that ski fields were receiving more snow now than they were 10 years ago because of global warming, warmer temperetures = more evaporation = more snow on the tops apparently. So lets consider this, no snow = global warming, less snow = global warming, more snow = global warming, lots of snow = global warming. By definition it is now a pseudo science because all answers lead to the same result and is impossible to prove wrong.

I read a science paper about 10 years ago that stated 40% of the worlds population would have to dissapare if the world no longer used nitrogen fertilizers. Would you voluteer to be in this 40%?
