Great... except this is going to have no impact on the cost of land in Auckland for example... 300K-400K for the land (of which a large chunk is taxes, red tape etc) + 300K plus to build a home at market rates (labour cost and materials). It will not make any difference to first home buyers. Theyll still be paying $650k for an âaffordableâ home in Auckland...
