Haumaha was instrumental in increased resources for Maori wardens under a Labour government with NZ First as the confidence and supply partner from 2005. NZ First always claim this as their policy victory. Theres no doubt that Haumaha and Peters were close. Haumaha only stood down from the nz first candidate selection at the last minute due to his wife facing criminal charges. Martin does have a conflict of interest. Her mother was secretary and still is of the nz first board that selected Haumaha in 2005.

Tapanui is a town that has seen much adversity and has turned itself around. Very picturesque little town that has even hosted a movie which the entire town got on board.

good to read the other side of the story. Both have valid points. Hitting plums over the fence is a bit naughty though and the children should have got a growling for that. If it were my property I would have thrown the plums back over the fence (or the pip depending on how ripe and sweet the plums were)

so soon we will be paying 3 taxes on fuel. 1 for auckland. 2 current fuel taxes. 3 regional fuel taxes. I thought labour represented the working class, poor and down and out. Keep taxing the poor to make them poorer. lets do this

We were extemely fortunate to have a whale in Wellington Harbour recently. I love how we cancelled the fireworks just for the whale. Nobody whinged or moaned about it. It is great that we as a city really cared about this magnificant mammal and were all in awe and privilleged by its majestical presence.

Essentially Quigly wants only 4 direct reports as he has a large university to run as well as complex other issues. He doesnt need the added pressure of another department reporting to him. I dont see the problem with these changes. The Maori department will remain the same. The dean of Maori keeps their job and reports to the pro vice chancellor. Whats the issue?

once the electric car can charge itself like a hybrid does, then the i3 or leaf will be much better. Whay havnt car makers combined the hybrid technology with electric to make a car that never actually needs charging by plugging into a charge bank? Hybrids use the cars brakes to re-charge.
