My fear is now people will start thinking $2.20 is the new cheap so it becomes normal for prices to be around $2.20 - $2.30 because the gas companies think we are fine with it.
If Wellington is now $2.20/litre, then big oil has decided to try and beat off the pending competition from Waitomo. And this is anti-competitive behaviour and subject to investigation by comcom1 month ago Wellington = $2.49 Hamilton = $2.23 Difference = $0.26Today Wellington = $2.20 Hamilton = $2.13 Difference = $0.07Clearly something fishy going on here (but good for Wellington)
Good luck with that. Bridges will find some sort of negative in it. Thats literally all hes capable of doing. Well...that and selling our democracy to the Chinese.
Two months ago our dollar was in state of collapse, our economy stuffed and we would never survive according to Simon Bridges and now the dollar is on the up fuel price is on the way down, time to say sorry Simon ?
But i thought it was the governments fault?
Ha, classic, nothing to do with the government saying they are going to investigating super profits, collusion and abuse of oligolopolist power in the market of course... Tui Ad
Hope to see the Nats happy about this - after all its what they all demanded (theyre the only taxpayers in nz after all) weeks ago in that frankly embarrassing flurry of knee-jerk mania, fear mongering and and overtly-dramatic and childish whinging.
We are all being groomed, next wave this time next year will see $2.75. then it was fall to a new average of $2.40 for the summer holiday period, just like it does year after year.
Not elated to the commerce commissions new powers at all....
Most boaties I know seem to tow their boats on a road in order to get it to the water.
FINALLY!!!!The government has lifted all that tax from petrol............hang on.....
A lot of National sycophants owe the government an apology right about now...
You mustve missed the part in the article that says the rapid decrease by .28c in such a short space of time begs the question, WHY DID THEY RISE SO HIGH IN THE FIRST PLACE?
Nah theyll find another excuse to have a big old whinge. They all live under a big grey cloud that lot. No sunshine in their days.
Under $2 per litre for 91 will be news
The fall in price is slower and not at the same rate as the rise , Shame on the fuel companies again
At least our nurses and teachers are getting a well deserved pay increase after 9 years. They are doing something but its easier to complain.
Ha. Good luck
Question: Why do these articles NEVER mention the DIESEL PRICES ??
see your point but I assume a vast majority of boat users dont have a permanent mouring and their boats get to the water via a road and technically speaking the added wieght contributes to road wear
