I really hope stuff posts this comment of mine.I need another licence to operate activities at Akaroa on cruise ship days. But the council wont give me one.I have made a Local Govrrnment Official Information and Meetings Act request as to why they will not issue another licence.Not only that, I have written to Lianne Dalziel bringing to her attention that the council executive have made a policy decision when it is a matter for the elected members. I am awaiting replies to both.And the council comes out with a new campaign. They cant get right what they are meant to be doing now. It is simply a hopeless situation. The people pushing these projects seem not to be aware of what the situation really is. They seem so disconnected from the real world of business. I think they exist in a bubble of their own.

Such a salute to Maori culture and explorers but not a lot of reference to the citys strong, influencial & important European cultural heritage. âCity of explorersâ.. Is our historical cultural heritage exclusively Maori? Are our European settlers not important? Settlers from the first four ships established our city... that was the start of Christchurch as we know it. Also what about reference to the multi cultural city weve become over generations? Asians, Indians, Europeans, Pacifica, Middle Easterners, Africans, Etc.. Lets be honest about the cultural heritage of our city & the multi cultural city weve become. Sure celebrate our Maori heritage but be equally as proud of our European cultural heritage.

Time to stop this nonsense about Christchurch being a global city - we are no more than a large town. How about looking after your existing residents and businesses first before trying to attract new businesses, tourists and new residents. Doing a poor job of that.

Its about time that Ardern, Peters and, Co woke up and offered big employers incentives to set up in Christchurch instead of screwing fuel taxes, GST and income taxes out of the rest of the country to pay for Aucklands infrastructure, new immigrants should also be given incentives to make Christchurch their home.Personally Im sick and tired of hearing what Auckland needs while the rest of the country is paying for it, but we know it will never happen as Peters, Jones and Ardern really only care about the Northern part of the North Island.

What planet are these people on? What opportunity? Save enough money to leave town perhaps. The city has lost every opportunity to make Christchurch a city for the future turning it into a place where no citizen of greater Christchurch want to be associated. We had a great city, great streets, wide with a good one way system, a good bus service, a vibrant night life and businesses that were prospering. Today, the city wants you only if you can ride a bike and want too. Millions of dollars spent for the benefit of a very small minoritys who ride bikes, dozens of one passenger buses (driver that is) going to places no one wants to go. City taken over by failed academics - gutless council with large rubber stamp. Dont need to go on. Maybe we should consider that the theme should be bollocks.

And how much will our council waste on this. Payments to a marketing firm, to Iwis, to consultants and the like will probably run into hundreds of thousands.

Christchurch. Run by the Worst Council on the Planet and screwed by all Insurance Corporations where ever they can deprive you.

To boldly go where no other council has gone before, (with rates increases). Thats because they are all space cadets.

Youre talking about a left wing government creating business growth incentives. It wont happen. Left wing politicians are generally career politicians with very little business sense. Theyre on the gravy train and the PM role for Ardern is just a stepping stone in a small swamp. In two years time she will turn her back on NZ and land safely on a larger stone in a much bigger swamp abroad.

Christchurch NZ is an incompetent organisation, this is just nonsense Ms Norris. Truly amateur. Really missing the point. I doubt it will attract any grownups. Let us have a functioning affordable City that works for the locals and is a great place to live. A place that gives our kids hope and our grownups jobs. All we get is dross like this campaign. Change the name of the City and it could be any largish town in NZ youre promoting. Doh!

Christchurch long ago stopped being the Garden City. There is no pride in our Parks and our suburbs are barren wastelands with 2 met high front fences everywhere as people shut the world out.

Ive lived here 15 years and I never knew there was that high a percentage of Maori living in Christchurch :-)Why cant the video show a 1 representation of the ethnicity in the city?
