So you havent been there then!I have been to Berlin and pretty mush every other major city in Europe and Berlin easily has its fair share of historic buildings and landmarks. Try looking up pictures of:Brandenburg GateGendarmenmarktReichstagMuseum IslandAlexanderplatzBerlin CathedralPergamon MuseumCharlottenburg PalaceGendarmenmarktKnowledge resultBode MuseumBebelplatzOberbaum Bridge etc etc etc

Berlin is great; a city with a place that serves currywurst with edible real gold leaf has to be good.

Trump said it was a great city until they removed the wallHe likes the wall idea said it was his idea

They dress like they are ready to fight the American civil war.

Interesting comment to make - i spent a week there and didnt even come close to seeing all of the sights.

I live in Berlin and had to laugh a few times reading this article. Its like the author reviewed a guide book from 10 years ago, but Berlin is a dynamic city and has since morphed into something very different. No locals would refer to Prenzlauer Berg as young or hip. Its a long time since Kreuzberg was the creative district. Most of the artists got priced out by IT firms and their workers and moved to Neukölln years ago. Maybe the author was just a little lost, Berghain and the East Side Gallery are not in Kreuzberg, neither is the Turkish market, but everyone here is a little lost, so fair enough

I loved Berlin when I visited there in 2008 but if you were to advertise it as a hipster destination, Id avoid it! Not a fan of hipsterism!

And if you are interested in somewhere more alternative ( and less expensive) to stay in Berlin try the Jetpak Ecolodge on the edge of the Grunewald Forest - check the website. It became our haven during a hot Berlin summer.

Curry yes, bratwurst, yes, any sort of sausage ending in ~wurst, yes - but currywurst? The horror.

What do you class as a hipster? By what they wear?
