Thank goodness. He now has a wider reach on this platform.Really tired of listening to the rants of Hoskings,Tova Obrien and Duncan Garner.
I didnt like him on radio at first but then he grew on me -I could even accept his apologetic style-but I do think Lisa Owen is a very good replacement-shes in the style of the legendary Mary Wilson, who NEVER took any crap-just barrelled on regardless, not in the whiny, Guyon Espiner way, but in the way you might imagine a seriously pissed off lady might-Gosh I miss her.
A small part of NZ TV will be worth watching. A little gold nugget in an endless stream of reality crap.
Totally agree, wont listen to Hosking or Garner full stop. Their shallow, self entitled style of journalism is a turnoff.

To coin an old kiwi phrase- Bring Back John ! His reporting on the ChCh earthquakes debacle was what cost him his career in my humble opinion. He put the Key Govt on notice about the poor handling & machinations of EQC & the Fletcher Cabal, and trod on too many toes. I still have all his recordings on nis coverage from the very first day in September 2010.
I would have thought him far too good for the dross of 7 Sharp. Worst programme ever. Never watch it now.
Great to have an actual journalist back, cant stand the nonsense / so called reality TV currently on 7Sharp with Hillary Barry and that other drip

Even if you disagree with him politically, if you cant have respect for someone that his obvious morals and principles and stands up for people that are repeatedly being overlooked then that is a truly sad state of affairs.Dont worry, there will still be plenty of one-track infotainment journalism to half pay attention to....
Shame hes going to across all those shows. I watch none of the and having JC there wont change that. Would have been better to just give him his own show.

Gabe Grace - I absolutely agree with you!John Campbell offers an intelligent alternative to the right wing talking heads you refer to who spew personal opinion whilst contributing nothing positive to any serious policy debates.

TV have had him every week day, people just dont change to channel away from TVNZ or TV3. He has been on freeview available to the entire country. Freeview channel 50. He has been on there for longer each day than he was on TV3 for a few years now.
