Took the bus into the central city the other day. $2.65 using the metrocard.......you can have a look around and a free transfer home. The city was looking much better. Recommend it to anyone who wants to have a good look at our new central city. Looking forward to the opening of the new central city library. Ill be there.
Ill-informed comment. If you are in Christchurch feel free to attend the University of Otago, Christchurch Showcase 2018, September 23rd, between 12 noon and 5pm. You can see for yourself the incredible work being done by the Christchurch campus, and maybe learn a thing or two!!FYI, UO also have a campus in Wellington and Auckland
Sure is. Many Otago University medical students have been doing their final year or two of clinical training in Christchurch for 94 years now. Theres only so many sick people available for training to go around in Dunedin. Pretty sure that buildings these days are mostly earthquake proof.
Great news! More redevelopment for the city. The stadium and now this. Exciting times!
Otago University has always had a campus on site at Christchurch Hospital. its just part of the rebuild.
Brilliant!!
Why? Universities have their campuses scattered all over New Zealand. They arent confined to just the Provence they originate from.
Great news, congratulations to all involved.
Theres one in Wellington and Auckland too. Does that wind you up even more? Rather than just making a short throwaway comment about it, it would be helpful if you explained the logic of your comment.
Why not?
Almost correct reporting - the health research education facility is complete and occupied with teaching having been undertaken their for two months already. The outpatient building must be about ready to go too. Completion dates for the Otago build?
No you dont. Its target rated. I dont use Waimak buses, you subsidise Waimak buses for people who rely on Christchurch ratepayer funded services. But didnt you say previously that youre a Christchurch residential ratepayer. Good to know you live in a bedroom town.
Pst - Otago also has a campus in Wellington. Also, this is land owned by the university. They can build what they want on it in my opinion.
You are aware that that land is actually owned by the University of Otago, yes?
I suppose you dont think that ASB (Auckland Savings Bank) should have any branches in Christchurch, either?
Calm down, brah. Its just a name, there is obviously a very good reason why these Med students study up here.
Would be nice to train in the south of France though...
Well done allowing chch students opportunity stay within home area. Makes sense to me Otago uni always been leading in med area. Great confidence booster to area after quakes etc. Good move cheers Maree
Thanks for pointing that out Mark. I wonder if you will also be complaining about the new road being built to help people living in the Waimak region shave a few minutes off their journey time into Christchurch? No? Didnt think so.
Its because it is part of Otago. Canterbury doesnt have a med school.
