Spark: Our customer service is terrible. Shall we fix it?...Nah lets try our hand at sports

How can you say that? People whine about Sky and its so called monopoly, Sky is this, Sky s that, down with Sky, we want competition. Now you have it. Problem solved

The biggest concern here for me is how easy it will be for people to view on their TVs. The one thing SKY, or other free to air TV has in its favour is - You press a button on your remote and bang, its there. I worry for the technologically challenged out there as not everyone has the know-how or patience to faff around hooking up a stream. Needs to be simple. People like simple. I know alot of us can do it easily - I can - but what about old mate who has a 5+ year old TV which isnt smart connected?

i sincerely hope we will still be able to watch it on a tv and not on a silly laptop or tablet only?

why dont spark focus on fixing their massive spam problems first.

Perhaps Spark should be sorting out how to run their business first!

I get the impression this is going to end up costing more than sky in the long run. I quite enjoy watching a few different sports, and will take a passing interest in others if theyre on. However paying for them all separately means itll either end up costing me much more to see as many as I currently do, or more likely I just wont bother and the Spark and the sports administrators will end up losing out on a lot of money

Exactly. Lightbox is a case in point. The app was withdrawn from my 5 year old Samsung television. Ive had no explanation as to why. TV3s on-demand app suffered the same fate. However Netflix, Amazon, TV1... all working fine. Whats that about?

What makes them the worst company ever? Have you ever tried to deal with Spark, literally no point.

If I can see football without having to deal with Sky, thats a win. Worst company ever. Now to wait and see how much Spark will (over)charge...

the sky employees are worried! they are commenting in force this morning!

Spark has won the New Zealand rights to the Premier League from August 2019 through to May 2022 and will stream the games over the internet, showing every match live and on-demand, as well as packaged highlights. What about the analysis/ discussion shows that we have now ????Best part of the current BEIN sports coverage. Also the EFL coverage - Where will that go ???

The same Sky that has monopolised sports coverage and ripped off customers for years? Competition is nothing but healthy!

So be careful what you wish for comes 1. Paying much more overall to several providers to watch the content that you want to watch.

wait for the epic fail Spark will deliver for the RWC next year.............

please not another provider. I will be opting out, only so much the consumer can pay across all mediums. Was so easy when it was all SKY, Happy with Rugby and the Supercars, not interested in the rest now once off the big TV.Living rural the internet option is average at best.

Would be nice if they spent the time fixing email spam and answering enquirers. i had a spam phone call from supposedly spark and said to caller spark never call and you cannot call then so this has to be a hoax call. I am sure this sports idea will end in tears and the CEO will move on with a golden handshake as is the NZ business philosophy. Then will later appear somewhere else as CEO

What makes you think the pricing structure is giong to be any better? They have outbid sky, which means they are giong to have to charge more than skyOr they may do an optus and force you to have a phone or broadband contract with them, otherwise to bad you cant sign upIf you enjoy multiple sports, this type of future is bad news . you will be paying a premium for each sport

Lets hope its better than the Premier League Pass app from a couple of years ago because that was a disaster

4K rights or the cheaper 720 option ?
