Nope. there are heaps of kids like this all over nz. I know a girl who did nz volleyball, nz basketball, and in mainland netball development squad all in one year.
Go for cricket. We already have rugby covered as a nation.

Jeez give the kid a break! What he is doing and has already done is remarkable. Try showing and sharing a little compassion rather than trying to bring others down to your level mate.

I guess time will tell, but he has some work to do to match Jeff Wilson. Wilson first played for the All Blacks at age 20, and also represented NZ cricket in an international, aged either 19 or 20.
This is actually pretty common, a fair number of top rugby players were promising rep cricket players and vice versa as well. Jordie Barrett, Brendan McCullum, etc. Even in lower levels Ive known plenty of people who if they excelled at one sport, they were pretty good at a number of others if they tried their hand at them.
Sophie Devine was in the Black Sticks and the White Ferns, Susie Bates was in the White Ferns and Tall Ferns, a few Tall Ferns were Silver Ferns. Thats just to name a few females who have played in a couple of codes.
And was also a representative basketball player.

Just because you havent heard of someone doesnt mean they havent excelled in a number of codes. Im the first to admit that there are many, many more that I havent heard of - and good on them.

I thought we had some Olympic cyclists that won an Americas cup, also a rower who is now a cyclist...The boy looks like he will be an excellent talent but NZ has some ridiculous athletes
