$1.245m - you have to be kidding? The ratepayers keep saying back to basics - our CCC is not listening to us.
A year and a half to go, the baubles, and overspends, look a lot less shiny, as we mourn our drinking water, being unbearable.
17% rate increases and theyâ're spending over $1 million on a bloody TV!Someone end our misery
Surely this is enough evidence to have the council audit and investigated and replaced and show the people of CHCH just where our rates have been misappropriated,unbelievable to tell us they always were going to release the cost,and now the mayor is throwing someone else but not her self under the train,time for media to hound this and council and maybe itâ's time for a national enquire into all councils spending. Of NZ rate payers,letâ's do this
Unfortunately this term of Council is going to be remembered for all the wrong reasons. If a private business was being run as the council has over the last few years, it would have gone to the wall and Iâ'm not talking about 'œthe touch wall'.
its always easy to spend other peoples money.. no accountability leads to it being spent faster.. the current council is a law unto itself
I suspect that the reason why this was kept secret is because the CEO has exceeded her delegated spending authority.Same thing happened with that Gormless statue in the river.
Time for a vote of no confidence against this council get them out
In this instance I dont think the Councillors themselves are so much to blame as it seems they have also been kept in the dark for many of these issues, I do however think the blame lays squarely with the top heavy management structure of the CCC with an open cheque book, its time for a decent clean out and Back to Basics
I think that Christchurch ratepayers need us to protest at their posh chambers. I think this is the only way to show them we do not like what they are doing, spending and hiding behind closed doors. It would need to happen on a Thursday when a lot of them turn up for a discussion between themselves on more art, closing of services. and cycle ways.
Councils official ratepayer survey, happy with the job council is doing?2013: tony and bob 70% yes.2018: karleen and lianne only 54% Going by that Bob and tony were way more popular than this lot. Maybe we got rid of the wrong team.
I love the mayor is blaming some one else.like she was not aware for 5 months that the ombudsman wanted answers . the election cant come soon enough.
How can the people of Christchurch get rid of this council before the next election? Iâ'm sick of hearing about more money wasted itâ's ridiculous. They need to go the lot of them
This council is full of secrets. For example how many father/son mother/daughter combinations are working in the council? I have heard a top manager has her daughter working right under her.
CCC up to its tricks again. I cant see the same people getting back in next time
Dalziel was a failure at Government, got down-graded to local politics and has failed her constituency again there. Now itâ's time for her to just leave.
Worst. CEO. Ever. Couldnt run a cake stand at a school fete.

In just 24 hours CCC is in the media as the most secretive council in NZ, for a boil water notice in Diamond Harbour, for a dodgy VBase restructure, for leasing its prime Hagley Park café to a bankrupt, for stuffing up the wells and putting chlorine in our water, and for the lowest community confidence in CCC services ever, lower than the worst of the Bob and Tony years. Wow. Awesome from the CEO, totally worth half a million a year. Not.
Get rid of the lot of them.
