It's a lot better than the numerous anthems that boil down to all foreigners should die. And the fact that people sing it like a funeral dirge is not the anthem's fault. Sing it at a sensible pace and it becomes much livelier.
no one likes hearing the national anthem sung badly but its hardly worth crying over and you sure do watch a lot of league for someone who is not a fan....openly anyway
The young woman in Melbourne gets wild applause while the young man in Dunedin gets mouthed off at. Im sorry but what does that say?
Time to follow the lead of FIFA and the Olympics- just have the anthem without the need for a different awkward singer altering the cadence of the anthem every time
League is the joke that keeps on giving. The national anthem yesterday literally brought tears to my eyes.
Crystal Collins rendition was fantastic. She sung it better than 99% of New Zealanders. I can only assume that the detractors are racist.
