Fighting climate change wouldn't stop our economy, but it might hurt the poor

Absolute rubbish. The cost of living will increase for everyone. Not just the poor intact more impact on young families with kids at school. Energy cost will rise as will inflation and interest rates. Shaw is is cloud cukoo land

I love it when global warming and climate change are proved by modelling and graphs. There it is right there. All the proof you need. Now next subject. Who believes in ghosts and or aliens?

Greenhouse gases are the primary cause of human-influenced climate change, which is likely to cause drastic damage to food production, coastlines, and weather in coming decadesThe usual catastrophic speculation that not only hasnt yet materialised, but most likely the opposite.

When new zealand gets more expensive and power companies & food all rise due to this tax on the air we breathe then dont complain. Extreme measures will hurt the poor.THe the taxpayer has to pour more money into poverty.

The key to Shaw's comment is help to the poor. In other words tax everyone then give more handouts. What utter ridiculous governing. We only do what the country can accommodate. You don't damage a country to prove a point that has minuscule world affect.

Fighting climate change could slow economic growth, but it wouldnt stop it, Guess what, it will also make very little significant difference to the climate as well, window dressing. Not to say we should not do our best, reduce pollution etc but the arrogance required to believe that mankind can change the climate shows how godless and desperate we have become. Not a chance mankind can save itself.

New Zealand could reduce emissions to zero now, and not make a jot of difference to the continued existence of human civilisation. To drag us down the economic toilet and achieve nothing but a pat on the back and a glow of sanctimony just lacks any common sense.

Thats It Im changing banks

Mo such thing as man made climate change. If you think otherwise show me the facts.Just one excellent marketing job from Al Gore.

Left wing politics contradict. Goods produced with low emissions and fair wages with ethical practises are far beyond what low income earners can afford to buy. They can't have both.

Hes asking there questions at question time. Pretty cozy!

Except it is not just this government that thinks CC is real and a problem. Simon Bridges announced on the weekend he wants to work with this government to combat the issue.

Step 4- Sign all Treaties and be a good little gnome. Step 5- cushyJob at the UN in the bag

The greens are starting to reach out to nats and nats also with their climate change ideas. I think you will see closer to election that the greens will distance themselves from labour. They are in govt now with no say.

Why blame National for Labour hurting the poor with these new Labour on the fly policies? They are of Labour's own making. Strange comment.

Yep, bet he is still globetrotting in his private jet and refusing to take public transport.

That's on the govt to close loopholes in legislation that allow them to legally do it. Successive governments over a number of years have failed at this. No one is ever going to pay more tax than they have to.

This govt coalition is going to hurt the poor.

The above pie graph shows 45% of our carbon emissions are from agriculture. This is at best misleading and at worst fraudulent as it relates to the gross emissions. I takes no account of all the atmospheric carbon absorbed via photosynthesis by the pasture the animals consume.

Read what I wrote. I said you don't damage a country to prove a point. General statement but I guess your reading vision gets clouded if you sense someone isn't a coalition supporter.
