| excellent that Amy Adams actively supports and stands up for at least one of her constituents, just a shame its herself. | 157 | 178 | 21 | Howaboutthetruth |
| Just another MP whose hypocrisy is highlighted by not in my backyard syndromeAmy Adams was supportive of the cycle trail at Maungamanu, where it was rail roaded through emergency legislation therefore bypassing resource consent and the ability to submit against it.Her actions clearly demonstrate that the view outside her holiday home is more important to her than proper resource consent processes, a protected surf break and all other people who will suffer from the same negative affects of the cycleway she is now submitting against. | 151 | 172 | 21 | KyRT |
| Ive ridden on that trail, theres a 4wd track past her house a few hundred metres long, its hardly intrusive to any house along there. Im looking forward to it being built. | 126 | 135 | 9 | SeaAsh |
| Perhaps I should ask my council to remove the footpaths outside my house because I dont want people walking past my bedroom and they might see me; then again perhaps I should ask that the street be vehicular free as well because of the noise and the carbon they produce. | 119 | 131 | 12 | Tauiwi Tane |
| how often does this member of parliament actually stay down there assuming she is working hard for her constituency seven days a week as MP for Selwyn, with farms in Darfield and Aylesbury etc etc. | 117 | 131 | 14 | i wonder why |
| Would be very interesting to see her attitude if a member of the public came to her with the same issue!!! | 116 | 130 | 14 | valleylad |
| Shes a National MP, people already see her as entitled and self obsorbed. | 113 | 127 | 14 | Waynesmate |
| Typical M P....its O K for anybody else, in similar circumstances, but not if it affects me.....NIMBY | 106 | 122 | 16 | Boxerdog |
| So is this her primary residence or her holiday home? Isnt she MP for Selwyn? She has more influence than people who had to be moved in the name of progress in upper Cuba st or for Waterview. She needs to be careful how she uses that so as not to be seen as entitled and self absorbed. | 103 | 114 | 11 | denizen |
| Interesting that a senior MP elected to represent the public interest doesnt when it suits her not to. Time to retire? | 89 | 101 | 12 | kjbob |
| Amy Adams electorate is Selwyn so thats where her MP attentions should be focused. Her (additional) property lies inside the Waitaki electorate. Her opposal to this cycle way is a direct conflict of interest and she should not have a deciding say for the sake of her own interests. | 87 | 106 | 19 | Trains |
| Wealthy MP buys expensive (and supposedly exclusive) lakefront property, (outside of her electorate) then complains when the public have the cheek to want to use the same public land that provides her expansive views! Self entitled NIMBY? Pretty much! | 83 | 86 | 3 | pete stuff |
Amy your party supports reducing emissions, supports cycle trails and so should you. Harden up. Dont be a NIMBY. This bike trails is going to be great, support it and get it done. | 80 | 93 | 13 | Flintstone |
| Yep, fine when it someone elses place but not hers. Politics is full of hypocrites who have regular mind changes after proposing an idea. And she wants to lead National?...when are they going to find some talent for goodness sake? | 79 | 90 | 11 | orangebin101 |
| Go with the flow Amy and suck it up. | 75 | 90 | 15 | sarah2 |
| Adams owns her property but she does not own the property around her exclusive elite hide away, this country if full of selfish people who dont want to share our great outdoors, unfortunately we have a lot of them in parliament looking after their own selfish self interests. | 74 | 77 | 3 | Davebrown333 |
| Three years ago a shared path was proposed to go through a reserve very close to us as part of the major cycle way programme in Christchurch . The area was wild, dodgy , and felt unsafe. Several residents objected to it going near their back yards citing similar reasons as Amy Adams has , despite some having 1.8m fences and would not have been affected in any way. The emotion was pitiful . Today it is a safe and happy route giving local residents a wide path to walk and scooter with their children to a school, also on the reserve, rather than busy rat run streets. The majority of users are on foot, but every day 300 to 400 people bike through the reserve using this path on the way to the CBD. It is now a fantastic area for people, a real community asset as during school travel time, the whole area is party central. People mix with each other, something that never happened when driving the big vehicle and trying to park it somewhere. Whilst Amy Adams has every right to make her objections unless theyre truly valid it is disappointing , and certainly wont win her many friends. | 73 | 76 | 3 | Robert21 |

| I generally support National but I have always found Amy Adams to be insufferable. She is completely out-of-touch and elitist (as much as I detest that word - its 100% apt here). | 63 | 65 | 2 | Club2 |
