| Heres a deal. When teachers raise our literacy and numeracy rates to near the top of the OECD stats, as they used to be, they can have anything they want.Until then, the evidence of their incompetence is all around us, writing CVs in text speak and using calculators for simple mental arithmetic. But their products have great self esteem, all unwarranted. | 116 | 158 | 42 | dyrtigaf |
| Im a teacher, I voted not to Strike! Im sick of all this - The union needs to compromise. The Offer on the table is better than the original -be reasonable! | 97 | 113 | 16 | amslou |
| Come on teachers get out of your bubble. Im tiring of your demands. | 86 | 116 | 30 | hill dweller |
| The union is claiming Its not about the money. Which is pretty damned amazing. Thatd be the first time in history that strike action regarding wage negotiations were not actually about the money. Good news though: the proposed wage rate hikes can be cancelled and save taxpayers a lot of money. Would the teachers settle for a gold star, the words Well done :-) on their report cards, and a participation medal each? | 79 | 103 | 24 | MadManMo |
| Absolutely brilliant idea :) When will they understand that their holidays off set any disparity in pay. Oh but wait they work during their holidays.... total BS you work for one day of the holidays then moan on social media about it! | 78 | 116 | 38 | jimmyjimbob |
| When are the teachers going to stop the bullying at school? | 70 | 94 | 24 | barnsz |
| Weird, my kids school they have just joined classes by knocking out walls. Extra large classes.. on purpose. | 70 | 81 | 11 | the_berg |
| These teachers need to be very careful. If this goes on much longer public support for them could turn. Accept the fact there is no more money on offer or find another job. | 70 | 96 | 26 | Inmyview |
| Sorry teachers, any empathy I had for your situation has been eroded, you have the best offer youve had in 10 years and you want more, where the bloody hell were you over the previous 9 years. Suck it up and try again for more next year. | 64 | 80 | 16 | NKJ |

| Sorry, but my support was only really about 75%, youve now lost it. I will now be paying my school donation, term by term in arrears, only if theres no strikes. | 57 | 69 | 12 | VelociraptorBlue |
| The greed | 54 | 82 | 28 | UpUpandAway |
| Perhaps the teachers could sit down and think about this during their next eight weeks off. | 48 | 55 | 7 | Hercules |
| many teachers ive experienced thru my kids education arent worth the money theyre currently paid... & anecdotally the carpark has more new model cars than not so they dont seem to be starving... #puregreed | 43 | 52 | 9 | F Dagg |
| so that the Government listens and increases the pot.Wheres the money coming from?I think the governments next offer should address time and class sizes but should REDUCE the salaries to compensate so that the total cost to taxpayers is the same as the previous offer. Then we will find out what really matters to teachers. They keep telling us it isnt about the money so lets test that claim. | 43 | 52 | 9 | JoBlo |
| I often hear and read about the large amount of extra paperwork faced by teachers, maybe it would lessen that burden by taking a big part of that away. This would make the profession more attractive? | 42 | 51 | 9 | Rovisetab |
| We know the public is still on our side, seriously starting to walk the line. | 41 | 48 | 7 | sheeple |
