Heres a deal. When teachers raise our literacy and numeracy rates to near the top of the OECD stats, as they used to be, they can have anything they want.Until then, the evidence of their incompetence is all around us, writing CVs in text speak and using calculators for simple mental arithmetic. The union is claiming Its not about the money. Which is pretty damned amazing. Thatd be the first time in history that strike action regarding wage negotiations were not actually about the money. Good news though: the proposed wage rate hikes can be cancelled and save taxpayers a lot of money. so that the Government listens and increases the pot.Wheres the money coming from?I think the governments next offer should address time and class sizes but should REDUCE the salaries to compensate so that the total cost to taxpayers is the same as the previous offer.
